Going by a few doomsayers on here, it might cut the Centrals deficit by a few goals…PatowalongaPirate wrote:That tips the balance if the best player in the contest withdraws.pmackk wrote:Apparently snelling is an out pulled up sore after last week nothing to serious though.

If we win tomorrow it will be our best win for the season with the amount of players we have out.

Plenty of doomsayers from all teams...Its been a tough week.Spargo wrote:Going by a few doomsayers on here, it might cut the Centrals deficit by a few goals…PatowalongaPirate wrote:That tips the balance if the best player in the contest withdraws.pmackk wrote:Apparently snelling is an out pulled up sore after last week nothing to serious though.

I even heard Bay supporters say they wouldn't make the Gf (which would be contested by sturt and the Dogs)... wow, that took first prize in exaggerated doomsaying huh?

Re: Round 8 Central v Sturt
That was the worst half of footy I've seen in a long time.
Only 8 inside 50s for the half
Disposal has been awful and no accountability at all.
Sturt just working harder when they have the footy.

Beau Thomas has cost us being a bit more competitive today. Getting smashed at centre half forward (and everywhere else).

No dog turds on the beautiful Unley oval but a decent supply on the Ponderosa today!

Re: Round 8 Central v Sturt
False horizon with 5 wins on the trot, but all against the bottom five teams.
With the list we have, we are not a top 3 side.
Sturt looked organised, play the big ground well, finding space.
Credit to Montgomerie (excellent today), Posthuma, Iles, Shaw and Co in defence. Had plenty to do, and kept at it all day... this could have been so much worse than it was. Fwds lacked any fight for the contest, and no surprise that Grace played his worst game ever for the Dogs.

Agreed, they kept a classy unit to its lowest score for the season, a score which included at least one act of goalkicking brilliance in a game defining eighth of footy.northerner wrote:

Re: Round 8 Central v Sturt
Credit to Sturt who ran harder, worked harder and were tougher around the stoppages as well as being much cleaner with the ball from go to whoah. That was more like 1v10 rather than 1v2. Some of the Dogs fumbling under pressure and lack of chasing was downright embarrassing. Not sure where to from here but there were no excuses today and I suspect some brutal reviewing needs to be done in the lead up to next week.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

It’s only June, whilst Sturt are clearly & deserved flag faves right now, they were this time last year with Norwood. A long way to go…

Re: Round 8 Central v Sturt
The only turds there today were one or two of the usual loud-mouthed mental excretions that slop themselves on to the south eastern corner mound each time your blokes play out here.mots02 wrote:No dog turds on the beautiful Unley oval but a decent supply on the Ponderosa today!

Agreed we have our share of turds and don’t just confine them to UnleyStrayDog wrote:The only turds there today were one or two of the usual loud-mouthed mental excretions that slop themselves in the south eastern corner mound each time your blokes play out here.mots02 wrote:No dog turds on the beautiful Unley oval but a decent supply on the Ponderosa today!

A week’s a long time in footy. Embrace the fact you’re clearly the best team in the competition & you weren’t affected by the mid season draft.mots02 wrote:Spargo wrote:It’s only June, whilst Sturt are clearly & deserved flag faves right now, they were this time last year with Norwood. I’m well aware how footy works…. But you haven’t even given it a week… you’re conflicting comments aren’t even 36 hours apartSpargo wrote:A week’s a long time in footy.
