Re: Round 10 South v Centrals Saturday 1410
South Adelaide will unleash another local AAMI Rookie against Central at Flinders University Stadium.
McLaren product Sam Whitbread has been named to start in a forward pocket against the Bulldogs.
The 20-year-old has been joined in the Panthers’ 25-man squad by ruckman Cam McGree and former Tiger Ben Sawford.
McGree and Sawford have been added to the seven-man extended interchange bench which must be trimmed by three before the bounce.

Getting way too far ahead. We haven’t even guaranteed a finals spot yet so one thing at a time please!

This is a must win game for South coming off a huge win last week. It will be for nothing if we don’t back it up. Need to attack the game like we did against Glenelg, if we do that and kick straight we should get a decent win at home.

Can we stand while we have a beer or do we have to sit down?

Wouldn't that suck, South finally win a flag after all this time, but in this "irrelevant" season.
South by 8 goals.

Why is this season 'irrelevant'?

The 2020 SANFL Claytons Premiership,
This season's different as a result of COVID, no doubt about it, but I can't see how it's 'irrelevant.' Not relevant to what? Perhaps it's not relevant to Centrals fans, who are likely to take the wooden spoon for the first time in ages. Can't blame them for trying to cushion the blow.
Some might be tempted to say the season's 'compromised', but a closer look would suggest that's not the case, given there's no annoying byes, everyone plays each other twice (home and away), and the absence of the AFL reserves sides (which I thought you would've endorsed).

ok, compromised massively then. And I don't give a fat rat's clacker if we DO finish bottom, I've seen us win 9 flags, that's pretty good I reckon.
I'd rather win the spoon in this COMPROMISED season than any other!

Not irrelevant at all..in fact tougher than most years. An interrupted disjointed pre season has seen all teams suffer from a lot of injuries. A shorter season makes every game absolutely critical- which imo has resulted in not only a very even year but all/most teams playing some pretty attractive attacking footy.

Fair enough.
Still interested to know why you think it's compromised or lacks integrity (probably a better way to describe possible criticisms) because I can't see how the structure of this season disadvantages any of the eight teams.*
* Not trying to be a smart-arse, just interested in a genuine SANFL discussion with an informed observer.

IMO it's the least compromised season since 2014, possibly since 1990. No influence from AFL clubs and players. Level playing field for all teams.
Whichever team wins the premiership will be very worthy premiers.

If Centrals were in South’s position this year you’d be singing a different tune...

Re: Round 10 South v Centrals Saturday 1410
Thank God this week's game is seeing the Ressies play before the main game. Absolutely ridiculous last time round that the Ressies was at 2:10pm and the League at 11:30am.
Our boys will try their best, but South will get home by about 8 goals.
Cheers

I can 100% guarantee you I wouldn't, yes it would be a flag but with a somewhat "unusual" feeling about it.
A much shorter season than normal, side(s) that finish just outside of the 4, not the 5, will feel a bit miffed because with a few more games they might have made it.
Also it's been a massive disruption having players that agree to play, only for them to change their minds at the very start of the season & bugger off, I think we've had 4 or 5.
