Re: Things that make you laugh

The sporting weekend which I just had (the only way I can get through it is to laugh!):

My house at school, Campion, came fourth out of four, in House Performances
Both squash teams I looked after lost 4-0
Centrals were mercilessly squished
Western Bulldogs could not kick a goal after half-time ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Glad that someone has finally spoken out.

No surprises really. I've said it before and will again, the way this has been handled by the SACA Board is nothing short of a disgrace.

I wonder what the consequences will be?

Re: Grade Cricket

How did Glenelg pull off adjusting the date of their semi and therefore the final at the last minute? Do they run the show?

Now the final won't feature any Redbacks players as a Shield game is on and Glenelg get the added bonus of having Sayers and Carey playing for them against Tea Tree Gully in ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Maybe Pooraka can be the 14th club.

Well done Daniel Drew on winning the Bradman Medal. What a great season and his development from year to year has been great to see. Hopefully some first class cricket for him soon.

Re: Grade Cricket

Now the dusk has settled after yesterday's Grand Final, we can reflect on what would have to be one of the most amazing performances in the history of Grade Cricket in SA. To come from wooden spooners last year to be the first Club ever to win all three Premierships in one season is still hard to ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Great write ups above. Incredible season. The greatest achievement in the history of Grade Cricket in SA and that's before you even delve into the mess the incompetent SACA board put the club through last season. It was only a month or so ago the SACA backed down and said West Torrens and Port could ...

Re: Grade Cricket

In fantastic news for the Eagles in their 'Triple Crown' defence, keeper/batsman Leigh Drennan has announced he will be playing again at the Eagles in season 2017/18. He has secured teaching employment in Adelaide and has also stated that he couldn't imagine playing for any other club.
It is looking ...

Re: Grade Cricket

What did Gregory do?

groin I think they said.

I have noticed one critical poster has been absent the past few days? maybe buying Gatts a congratulatory beer?

I am sure all the TTG faithful were buying Gatt$ his beers as he is unable to be paid while in Oz

TH, after what he did to save us ...

Re: Grade Cricket

The best grade/ futures batsman in the state has not been offered a contract, I find this hard to fathom personally.
Does E2014 have any knowledge of what will happen with him now?

Posted comment on the Domestic/Redbacks forum.

Basically, very biased view but this decision is a disgrace. At 24 ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Also hearing strong rumours of Page to the Buffs and 2 Metre Peter returning to WT, handy along with Johnson x2 Drew and Leverock rounding out their bowling attack

Thought 2 metre Peter got another Queensland contract!!!!

Don't think Georgey did get a contract this year. Initial reports were he ...

East Torrens win the One day final over Uni by 39 runs.

Just shows how hard it is to win the Triple flags :D

Re: Grade Cricket

Prospect 58 all out this time. Ouch

What's the go out there? why have they struggled down the bottom for so long?

Must be some serious underlying issues?

If you want to go to 12 team comp there is your answer!'
Yep - merge Prospect with Uni. Gets rid of the bye and gives Uni a junior zone to ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Re juniors, I would think priority would be to not have the SACA comp clash with school cricket. So schools on Saturday, SACA and Turf on Sunday. One U15 and U17 team would be fine with fluidity between SACA club and Turf club. Perhaps every player is registered and pays subs to their turf club and ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Just watched a batting master class at Henley Oval from Ryan Gibson. Opened for the Western Eagles didn't open his account until the 19th ball he faced then proceeded to hit 205 off 118 balls, 20 x 4 and 10 x 6. Could be destined for higher honours, we will just have to wait and see.
Did you stay ...

Re: Grade Cricket

To simplify the concept I put forward:

1st Grade - 8 Clubs
2nd Grade - All clubs (1st Grade team of clubs not in 1st Grade)
3rd Grade - Optional
4th Grade - Optional
Under 17 - one team for every club
Under 15 - one team for every club
Under 13 - one team for every club

Every club should have a ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Uni 280 in the one day final
Kens 3/171 after 34 overs

Good game

19 needed off 3 overs. Doyle on 59. Kensington should win from here. 5 wickets in hand.

Presume Nick Winter injured himself? Only bowled 3 overs.

Kensington win with 8 balls to spare. Great chase under lights. Nick Winter did a ...
