I'd expect the Power to improve under a new coach.

Would Collingwood or Essendon actually want him ?

Before i get jumped all over, im not faulting his actual coaching record (which is outstanding), but FFS, does he have to keep reinforcing the fact he is a tool.

Why would you even be mentioning on national TV that you might like to coach elsewhere one day, especially in light of recent happenings ?

You've got a young side clown what do you & alot of your inpatient supporters expect success in 1 year?
Take Hawthorn & A Clarkson for example, no one really wanted him at Hawthorn yet it was only Dunstalls idea of taking someone with new ideas outside of the club that was then supported by the rest of the board.
He gave it a 4-5 year plan & what happened? A flag in 4 years.
People like you that know f..k all about the game should shut the hell up & stop embarrassing the people that support your great club & run it.
Give the bloke 5 years, remember in the 25 odd years that Sheedy coached he averaged 1 flag every 5 years.

Yes I am aware we have a young side and I dont expect much in a season or two. I also saw him coach at the Port Magpies and what did he do there f..k all, also he didnt do much at the Bendigo Bombers. My point is what credentials did he have to get a Afl head coaching job and also the Essendon board had a whole list of things that Head coach was meant to off done e.g. come from a winning culture. Knights didnt meet many of them. I hope he proves me wrong, but I dont think he will, also people like you should learn to read I said "I was so angry when we picked him"

Drawing a long bow there between Knights and Clarko. Clarko had a flag with Centrals under his belt and some experience at Port as well before heading to Hawthorn. Knighter didn't have anywhere near the runs on the board that Clarkson did. If Essendon wait five years with Knighter I reckon they'll get as many flags as the Catters did in our first five under Bomber.

Don't worry if the only other contender is Mark Harvey, then Choco will definitely get a contract extension at Port :D

May have already been mentioned but apparently during the interview process Hardwick told the Essendon board that he believed it would be a 2 year process to return to the top 8 whereas Knights told them it could be done straight away and as we know that didn't happen and almost certainly won't happen this year either.

On subject though, think that Port should stitch Williams up on a 3 year or longer deal because IMHO Port Adelaide is a unique situation that needs someone like Williams at the helm - you certainly wouldn't want to replace him with a Peter Sumich or a Wayne Campbell etc if you were to set chocco free.

What an absolute load of bullsh!t, & you think Essendon would pick a coach based on that assesment.

No I don't but it showed that Knights was willing to tell them what they wanted to hear rather than the reality of where they were at.

Merc it is a well known fact in certain circles in Melbourne that Hardwick had an excellent presentation and yet was scathing in his assessment of the Essendon List during the interview process and warned them there would be a lot more pain before joy and an assessment that has been supported by others where Knights went in with a softly softly "we be ok" sell. Of course there were other factors such as presentations and the like but he very much played down the perception of their list. This isn't rumour merc this was from an executive on the board who quit in protest of Knights appointment.

MY GUESS IS Chocco will remain at Port until end of 2010 season if they look like finals contenders in about mid-June. They will need to improve in consistency and competitiveness for them to make the Top 4 but I think they could do it. A loss to the Crows this week will have the knives out and his job will be in jeopardy for sure. It's some of the Port players who need the riot act read to them...their stupidity and lack of discipline is unbelievable!
If he does get sacked, there will be plenty of job offers coming his way from Victoria, and stand by for Nathan Buckley to be appointed as his successor !!!!
If you don’t like my words, don’t listen. If you don’t like my appearance, don’t look. If you don’t like my actions, turn your head; It’s as simple as that.
