not sure about the AFL tip cuzzy, if he plays at Goolwa will be very handy but played in SOuth reserves trial on the weekend not sure how he went.

Has there been any positive sightings of Jelom19 at all?? I thought he might come out of hiding and stir things up a bit with the 2009 season fast approaching.

Jelom 19 is fast becoming an Enigma. The mail is, Cricket has become his priority. With Myponga in the finals after flogging the McLaren Districts, I think he is puting his efforts in that area. He is still around, but his work computer is not to be used. Unfortunately the laptop that he had began to talk to him. He had dropped his medication levels down, and the voices he heard coming from his computer, confused him and he buried it, in the sandpit at Myponga, mortally damaging the computer.

Perhaps after the cricket, the great man will bless us with his presence.

Are all clubs happy with the point system? There are murmourings around of a late change to point allocations for 2009.
It would be an absolute disaster if it were to happen.

Prior to the last GSFL delegates meeting there was a meeting held by representatives of the 10 clubs to discuss the points system as a couple of clubs wanted the points to be increased prior to the commencement of the 2009 season. At that meeting it was decided that it was too late to change it for the 09 season but they would re-address the issue prior to the the next AGM. It seemed that this meeting was convened by a couple of clubs that may have "over recruited" and would not be able to play all their best 21 with the current system.

So clubs have recruited players, then realised they cant all play so they want concessions! The clubs voted it in, live with the system and let it take some effect rather than bitch and moan about how unfortunate they are and try and change it.

It's no different to clubs contracting players to amounts that exceed the salary cap under the old system. The rules are stated well before the start of the season and its up to clubs to recruit within those parameters.

What clubs would be in points trouble, Victor maybe now with Dale Ellis?

I totally agree limb, problem with the salary cap is the player payments are easily disguised whereas the points system is transparent, u cant cheat it if its policed and penalties need to be applied if the rules are broken.

Why does point system discussion still continue? We all know and have known for a period of time how many points we have to use. The system is in place at least for 2009, so all clubs can do is to deal with it and get on with playing footy. If a club recruited on a wing and a prayer that the system would be changed then bad luck.

Clubs had a chance to make a move on the system, but the ones who wanted change apparently said nothing with the exception of Yank. Everyone must remember Willunga and Victor were the only clubs against the system. 8 clubs wanted it!

Played half the reserves trial and half the League trial on the weekend. Didn't do to badly, will play most the year in the reserves might be lucky enough to play a couple of league games if he sticks it out. Possibility he may be content to play country football with his brother and new mates in G-town.

Yeh only 1 year at Goolwa. Haydyn is playing again, Greg (old man) is being a trainer again and his older brother Jason and Scott are still around.
