At that meeting it was decided that it was too late to change it for the 09 season but they would re-address the issue prior to the the next AGM. It seemed that this meeting was convened by a couple of clubs that may have "over recruited" and would not be able to play all their best 21 with the current system.

So clubs have recruited players, then realised they cant all play so they want concessions! The clubs voted it in, live with the system and let it take some effect rather than bitch and moan about how unfortunate they are and try and change it.

It's no different to clubs contracting players to amounts that exceed the salary cap under the old system. The rules are stated well before the start of the season and its up to clubs to recruit within those parameters.

Played half the reserves trial and half the League trial on the weekend. Didn't do to badly, will play most the year in the reserves might be lucky enough to play a couple of league games if he sticks it out. Possibility he may be content to play country football with his brother and new mates in G-town.
