Can anyone confirm or deny that ex-McLaren local Paul James has been pulled off of the medical staff at South Adelaide to have a run in the reserves?

C*ntStubble Dustin Hirst to wed his long-time sweetheart this weekend. Signalling an end to his 'illustrious' career? we can only hope his disgusting brand of no-hoper football never again rears its ugly head on the GSFL scene

Re: Owen not Cleared!

BJ Ernest wrote:The disappointment on Cuzzys behalf is understandable. Ur sides best performing player spits the dummy in a final when his side needs him the most!!! Very disappointing.

In saying that Owen is a top lad, quality young player and to bad mouth him on a public forum cuzzy does not bode well for you or the club. I know i wouldnt return anywhere if i decided to leave a club and copped that much grief for doing it, its not like hes headed down the road, hes interstate!!!

Clear Lovey and move on!

okay ill agree it was a bit harsh and a spur of the moment comment, but it would be interesting to see if a player from club did the same to you guys. Sure the guy is a great bloke but all his great blokeness is outwaited by a few things;
1-in a team meeting once the new coach was appointed he sits down and tells all his team mates that he is back in 09, he tells us regardless of where his bro is playing he is signed sealed and delivered.
2-starts training for the bays in 09, walks off the track with no excuse or even saying anything and disapears
3-gets a notion from somewhere in lasts years final that no-one will pass him the ball, spits the dummey and refuses to come off, when he finally does come off storms into the change rooms, takes his jumper off and throws it and locks himself in the trainers room. Intersting quote heard from Bass that day "i will never or want to coach Owen again" The dissapointing thing about this day was that Bass was left with a great deal of pressure on him and a massive weight put on his shoulders from something that was out of his control

Unfortuntly in Owens case he may have burnt his bridges with a few blokes at the bay, maybe not all of them but to me when you treat your club and your team mates how he has its not acceptable. I hope owen does kill it in sydney and takes off where he was in the middle of last years season.

I have heard rumours of this wedding. I'm with you Kappars. Too long have the Hirst brothers disgraced the GSFL. Younger brother Leigh is an improvement on Dustin, although that doesnt say much. We can only hope with his pussy-whipping departure that Max McCardle comes back into the fold. That youngster is an absolute delight to watch.

distinct possibility. Has a massive engine and can kick the ball like a mule on steroids. Questionable dedication and desire though. Decision making questionable at the best of times but does his best work at the bottom of the pack. Last time I checked he played 60 odd Senior games at the vale, most of them A grade. Rumour has it, he is dedicated to his physio work

I don't think you have been around long enough D&W. I remember the days of Dustin Hurst holding up the back lines and doing very well on proven opposition and last year was always a solid performer but has made his way down forward and will look to settle into a key role in 09.
The wedding tomorrow should be a great day for us lads to all have a few beers and talk rubbish, nothing from the type of standard day really just in stead of all typing it on a forum we will be able to speak face to face.

I rate the lad, a certain bloke from canberra doesn't like the way he goes about his footy and hooked into my username.

I might have to jump on Cuzzy's boat in the Owen Love situation. Obvioulsy he can play, and after speaking with him a few times he seemed like a nice bloke. The problem I have is with the consensus that a "country" footy contract means "nothing". That is rubbish, it is a legally binding document and should be treated with repect. Understandably at this level people's committments change so mutual departures will certainly will occur. The question is has Owen moved to Sydney purely for football or other reasons? I feel for the hard working locals that prop country clubs up week in week out to give the community something to do and a sense of ownership only to see players who get payed well bail when its convinient. It might take a club like E Bay to drag this out to set an example that clubs cant be walked all over.

And good luck to Hirsty on the weekend, it will an emotional day for 2 reasons. 1. weddings bring a tear to the eye and 2. I have the feeling that you and I will no longer be contining our stellar 10 year footy trip association. Keep an eye out for the MC at the wedding. heard is a gun.

It cant be too hard the guy has moved interstate, a contract is worthless in country footy.

Not if he has taken Cash Up front for services. (Which has happened in this case i believe). That then makes him unfinancial,
and he or the New club would have to re-pay his debt make him Finacial before he will be cleared!

You never know, I saw Rebecca Twigley at the adelaide cup so it is a possibilty. Na in all seriousness i am obliged to go on trips as a "responsible" person and to organise and oversee extra ciricular activities, so I am on board but Hirst will no doubt hang up the boots.

From what I've heard about previous GPEFC footy trips there isn't a lot of responsible supervision that goes on!

Cuzzy you have bagged almost everyone that has left your club and for what reason? Your club isn't exactly errr... organised and isnt exactly respectful of the people who have passed through its arch ways - I say that because of your posts.
I believe Bassani has nothing to do with the ins and outs of coaching anymore and merely is a bum on a seat according to my source at McLaren Vale...
I now also am aware that all three lads in the 2 loves and sumner are related and moved to Sydney for the offer of full-time work and in return need to play footy.
Knowing that last seasons runner-up mail medalist is financial - can I ask, does the refusal simply mean your club would prefer he return to SA and play for five months earning whatever it is your paying him instead of him finding meaningful employment?
Your clubs seems to expect a lot while giving very little at times...
WHy wouldn't you take this as an opoportunity to use the money you had for the Owne to pay locals incentives and get them to actually train - oh thata's right - you dont need anyone else training - you already have 32 on a bad night and are in line to take the mantle from Willunga.
Gee wizz, what happens if the lads get homesick and return to SA - not sure they'd openly play for you now.

Cuzzy, are you on your clubs board and possibly a former player turned spectator? PM me the answer if you like.

I once got banned for 3 months for "putting a name to a user name" Cuzzy. Looks like we wont hear from you for a while if your suggesting 'Vision' is the name mentioned in your post.
