but you are right its the pressure around the ball and delivery into the fwd line that will decide the outcome

we win more games when our fwds take marks in the corridor and convert

we need to take at least 15 marks in the fwd line

the rest come from the crumbers which improved last week

I would play Hentshell and Passador out of the square with small crumbers around their feet and Petrenko in the middle

Agree. The one positive of having Petrenko running off half back this week is that Unley Oval is so small that he would be delivering into the forward 50. We just need to work hard for 4 quarters all over the ground. They will flood back and run forward in numbers so we need to be unpredictable in bringing the ball forward and have a strong presence in the forward line. Hentschel, with all the talent he has and the injuries he's overcoming, still needs to go hard and make his presence felt. Something he didn't do at Alberton, particularly early, in his last game.

I hope Schwarze comes in with the attitude of something to prove, whether he plays forward or back. He will make a mistake or two, he always does, because he takes people on, but I hope he keeps his head up, gives it his all and plays for the team.

The Eagles can win this game if they're switched on.

....Agree 100% , maybe he can "sulk" in the Grandstand - he never returns to Unley with the right attitude !!!! Give the opportunity to a player who is worthy of the gurnsey.

Don't be surprised if Passador doesn't play. Was on and off ground at training during week. Salter gone to PAP.

Can a Sturt supporter give me an idea of Brant Chambers height... Just listening to Cornes... and when questioned on Brant's ability to play AFL Cornes came out with "not tall enough or big enough for AFL footy". I'd have thought he'd easily match Fev's 6' 2.... or Bradshaw....

I'm not a Sturt supporter, obviously, but try this link for Chambo's vital stats...

http://www.sturtfc.com.au/players/player_07.htm

He is 193cm tall but interestingly he weighs 93cm. Obviously that is supposed to be 93kg but I would have thought he is closer to 98 - 100kg, he is a big, broad shouldered lad...

When was the last time Brent was in a Double Blues jumper, I'm thinking it's been a good 2 or 3 years possibly.

Maybe I'm missing something here, I wouldn't call Brent "soft", he goes at it pretty hard for Adelaide, and if he's had bad games for Sturt, maybe it was when he was young, I don't know. I think that I'm not seeing something about his game, I think he's a good player.

Of course he is a good player, I just think some Sturt fans might just doubt him coming into your line up having not played with a lot of the boys before so he want know anything about their game, the game plan Rick MacGowan likes to implement and just unsettle them in general.

Gee BP, if you don't get off of here soon, you'll never get the lawns done! There's the point you just made but it seems that there is more of an opinion by Sturt supporters and on DB.org that brent is soft at the ball, I think this stems back to a final against WWT in 2003. If it's the same one that i remember, I can't say that I recall much of Reilly, alot of the crap umpiring but not much of Brent.

I'm not mowing the lawns this morning, it's just stopped raining in Norwood... The missus woke me up early this morning to go off and get her hair done and I'm not leaving home 'til 2pm to head out to Elizabeth so I've got nothing else to do but rack up the post tally

Back to the topic at hand, it doesn't matter about Brent this week anyway, he hasn't come up from his injury still. No doubt these similar points will be brought up next week if he is to have a run with Sturt but at the end of the day, he is a half decent AFL player and one would think he would be more than a handy addition to the side than what he would be a hinderance. I guess time will tell perhaps...

I think a lot of it stems from the finals game Cutterman mentioned where an inform Paul Kennedy was dropped to allow Reilly to come into the team and he wouldn't of got in the best 35 players.
Most have the opinion that Sturt would've been much more of a chance in the wet conditions had Paul Kennedy played that day.
