Who would you pick?

Postby prowling panther » Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:22 am

If you were the recuiting manager of your club, who would be the 5 players from the other SANFL clubs would you want in your team next year?

(Taking into account that all players were available and not contracted)
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

MagareyLegend.....you are a twit...and you are consistently bagging Westies. Ryan Ferguson has proved to be one of the best defenders in the SANFL along with Cupido. Most supporters wouldn't mind those two in their side.

Depending on what your policy was, Heath Younie would be too old to recruit.
He's been a great player for North- one of the smartest blokes we've got.
I have a lot of respect for Heath as a player & a leader at North.

I wouldn't have thought there'd be too many who'd pick Cupido.

Yes the ones who have not seen him play at all in defence this year wouldn't pick him. The ones who have seen him i think wouldn't hesitate in picking him as a running defender.

yes some of us have seen him and no we don't want him....

Unless he would be prepared to play for base payments, not the coin he has been on a South and now is on at West....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I didn't think that payments were part of the criteria. That would rule out not only Cupido but a few others that have been mentioned.

I've seen him abuse team-mates, look lazy and play selfish football. If that's the kind of bloke you want at your club good luck to you.

Considering that the number of current AFL players that are ex West Adelaide, people could also look into taking 5 of their u/17 players who seem to be playing well at present!

I'd like to say we'd take Chambers, but having him in the forward line could actually be detrimental to our other forwards and the chemistry that Duldig, Grima, Kirkby, McConnell, Bode and co have established this season...

I'm a big fan of the real in and under gutsy types, so to complement Mouse, Allen, Kane and Fisher, I'd have to go with a player like James Gallagher, or Jimmy Allan or Jeremy Clayton.

Daniel Schell would be an excellent compliment to Sherwood, Rudolph and Panozzo down back for us, and having a back-up ruckman for Trevor Cranston would be ideal, so I'd probably take someone like Craig Parry.

I see a lot more of Cupido than you do and he is far from a selfish footballer. He is no doubt a very lazy forward but that is why i said i would pick him as a running defender where he plays his best football. As for abusing team mates what a load of rubbish you see him in the change rooms and at the quarter time breaks and he is very encouraging of all his team mates.
