Told you.
More AFL meddling...

Ask any Leeds fan about it...

Also all NT players will automatically be drafted into the new Glod Coast team. I think the NTFL has sold out its players as they will no longer have choice and will be playing in a lower quality league than SA or WA.

ITV Digital actually.

Crows can top up ther side with invited underage players from SANFL clubs in their "zone".
Crows would be happy as they'd have more control over their players.
Power would be happy (admittedly some Magpies fans would be unhappy but I think you'd still get more spectators coming along to Port games).
No bye, a lot of Crows supporters would meander along to see their next tier of players in the same league.
No mini drafts, no issues with qualifications, etc.
Win/Win in my book.
Just a thought.

I have no problem with the current set up as it is. But also have no dramas for an interstate side joining either, provided that it is advantageous to both parties involved. If we do go down this path lets not make the same mistakes as the AFL clowns did.

That's your dream scenario. Sojourner's dream scenario is a team in the TTG area. I know someone else wants one in Mount Barker. Dan the Man wants one in the Barossa. If you want to the reduce the standard of the SANFL, pending two more new AFL teams to weaken even further, go for it.

Despite what some of us one-eyed SANFL fans think!
The SANFL is as strong financially as its ever been, since the Crows and Power started. The profits from the AFL do eventually filter through all levels ... even if its not as much as it could or should be.
Thinking that 1. the AFL will collapse and 2. if it did, that the SANFL would emerge as a national power in its place - is unfortunately a slightly deluded, parochial, nostalgic fantasy.
IMO

Remember Woodville played only 4 finals in the entire history and WT never played in a final after the 1980 Elim final. And both clubs were ridiculously close together geographically (I think the SANFL may have sunk WT back in 1964).
In their place we have a team that has been very strong and competitive and a club that pays due respect to its origins. That's not to say mergers are always the answer, but in the circumstances in 1991 it was a very good move IMO. Each case needs to be taken on its merits rather than having a pre-judged view. So i still support the tigers.
If we had more NRL fans on here they could tell us about their merger experiences.
