Yep. Kids (especially mine) think that 35 is stiflingly hot. Cos everything above that temperatures means things are called off.dedja wrote:I was in my mid 20’s before living in house with a/c, went through school with none as well … ah, the good old days

This is number one of my playlist of "Back in my day", no such thing as too hot to play.amber_fluid wrote:Kids basketball got called off recently as the A/C in the indoor gymnasium wasn’t workingdedja wrote:I was in my mid 20’s before living in house with a/c, went through school with none as well … ah, the good old days

I'm a bit the same, I have 3 split systems, I put one on at each end of the house and let them purr while I'm home, I like to feel comfortable at home and comfortable means not sweating while I'm just sitting there.dedja wrote:I was in my mid 20’s before living in house with a/c, went through school with none as well … ah, the good old days

Re: Soooooo, how's this weather?
I’m definitely much softer these days, although not a marshmallow just yet.Lightning McQueen wrote:I'm a bit the same, I have 3 split systems, I put one on at each end of the house and let them purr while I'm home, I like to feel comfortable at home and comfortable means not sweating while I'm just sitting there.dedja wrote:I was in my mid 20’s before living in house with a/c, went through school with none as well … ah, the good old days

I set the a/c to 27 in summer because when I got my solar panels installed years ago I geeked out and tested how much juice every major appliance was consuming, including the main house ducted a/c and the wall split in the family room. I worked out at the time that reducing the a/c to anything below 27 delivered faark all more cooling, but significantly increased power consumption.
I also don’t mind working in hot weather, as was the case on Sunday when I was in the roof space for half the day investigating the ducted a/c fault I had. The roof space can be 20-30 degrees hotter than in the house, so it would have been at least 50-55 degrees up there and I was fine.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.
