Re: Things that you rate!
Luckily, I worked with a guy who referred me to the Joint Replacement clinic in Hutt St. My cost for the op, 6 physio visits, equipment for two weeks to get me up and running again and the hospital stay. $500. The JRC do not charge anything on top of what the private health pays. A colleague of mine had the same surgery 2 years ago with another company and she was over $20k out of pocket.
Thankyou to Dr Reddy and the JRC!

Re: Things that you rate!
As they say your mileage may vary but I would guestimate $1.5 to $2k ish. With Bupa, dont think we paid the hospital anything. Surgeon extra 500, anaesthetist another 500, physio was a gap but can't remember, initial surgeon consult 2-300. If I remember right, 6 week follow up was no charge.Dutchy wrote:What is the approx out of pocket cost for a replacement?
Had both of mine done at the Memorial and no complaints at all.
Chose not to have the gel injections, thought I'd get the discomfort over all at once.

Re: Things that you rate!
Good info lads thanks, Id been told about $2.5k, cost isn't an issue if it fixes the knee and Im hearing good reports from everyone I know who has had one.
Got plenty of sick leave also, timing might be an issue though.
Going to keep on my physio treatment plan for another month and if not real improvement Ill go see a surgeon.

I used to use them too but they dont seem to have any good specials anymore.amber_fluid wrote:Specialty foods butcher!
Went off them for about 18 months as the quality was going down as prices went up
Given them another go and glad I did
I got a delivery yesterday from Meatonline, you must buy a carton which is about 20kgs worth and cut it yourself, but the grass fed T bone i got was amazing $24.5/kg
Also got grass fed Rib eye on the bone, ordered 5 star at $26/kg but they were out of that so they offered me 6 star for $30 down from $36. Havent tried that yet but looks the goods.
They currently have a sale on until Sunday
Nothing wrong with frozen meat as long as you vacuum package it.
Ive even become somewhat of an expert at Air frying from frozen in emergency, allows you have your desired rare to medium on the inside and nicely crusted and cooked fat on the outer

I've been toying with meat in the air-fryer and found it to turn out extremely well, I don't have the kahuna's to try it from frozen though.daysofourlives wrote:I used to use them too but they dont seem to have any good specials anymore.amber_fluid wrote:Specialty foods butcher!

Air fry frozen meat?
What type/cut of meat have you tried in there from frozen?

I must say, I'm not much of a drumstick fan but whack some G-Fresh Gournet Chicken seasoning on them and 27 minutes in the air-fryer and they're a delicacy, even better when they're about $3 per kilo if you buy more than 3 kilos at Woolies.

Re: Things that you rate!
Had a chick about 30 apply for a factory role here, we have about half a dozen women work in our factory but none in my area.
Anywho, her resumé read really well, good steady work history, academically very sound and interviewed really well, she just happened to be extremely attractive also but I couldn't not give her an opportunity based on being too good looking.
Well, we had another bloke start 5 weeks prior to her and by the Wednesday she had already eclipsed him and was signed off within two with weeks to be able to operate her machine competently by herself, most blokes take 5-6 weeks (I did assign a different trainer to who we've always used though).
It's funny how everyone watches their language over the two-way now, every helps each other more and blokes who often stunk a bit now are wearing cologne to work and brushing their hair. she has been here for about two months and I'm putting her on full time, I feel a bit bad about the other bloke not going on FT yet but I've told him what he needs to master before I can.
I had another girl start on Monday just gone and she is smashing it too.
