Cracking game of footy. Can’t see Binder getting much sleep tonight, he will be replaying that kick in his head for months
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

As a neutral, excellent game to watch

Re: Preliminary Final Glenelg v Norwood
Bad kicking is bad footy. Loved our effort and willingness to keep running and pushing, gave ourselves a chance but to no avail. When it mattered most, like champion teams do, the Bays were cleaner by hand and foot. Spewing that Max has gone down, there’s few oppo players I’ve admired more and leaves a big hole. Good luck next week fellas, but I fear it might get a bit ugly for ya.

The last few weeks should shut up the nonsense about Sheeds for a while.
Told you months ago, Sheedy >>>>> Twig.
Sturt unbackable faves for next week, I’m more than OK with that.

Hats off to both teams .. a game almost worthy of a GF in terms of intensity.
Blues in the box seat for next week but that could quickly turn into the hot seat if the Bays can jump them early..

Hopefully with a fit list plus the expected arrival of several decent players Sheedy gets a clear run at next year as at the end of the day this year we just weren’t good enoughdedja wrote:The last few weeks should shut up the nonsense about Sheeds for a while.

Boyd potentially is bringing someone over with him. Heard on Friday from someone close to the club that Aish is also coming back. If injury free I think he can offer a bit in the SANFLsouthernbulldog wrote:Boyd certain to return will see you challenging again

Re: Preliminary Final Glenelg v Norwood
Pressure by both sides was fantastic, we had patches where we really troubled you guys but apart from the last 5 minutes of that third quarter we couldn’t put the scoreboard pressure on.stampy wrote:dont how to describe my feelings, thought we were ordinary 90% of the game, norwood made us look that way? somehow we found a way, no max next week, will be a miracle if we get up
Really felt we should’ve been 3-4 goals up at halftime but not to be

Re: Preliminary Final Glenelg v Norwood
I don't think a win has ever felt so much like a loss. Norwood the better team on the day. They got numbers to every contest; they had players supporting the ball carrier and were able to move the ball about by hand almost by wild abandon. Glenelg kept themselves in it largely due to the efforts inside their defensive 50. The game was not pretty to watch, with no free flowing football and nary an easy posession for either side. Ultimately, were it not for Tristan Binder's impersonation of Simon Feast, the Legs would have won, and deservedly so.
Incidentally there was an article in the Budget about the 2007 Elimination Final and Simon Feast's shanked kick right at the death. A wacky coincidence?
Glenelg's prize for winning is very much a booby prize: getting to turn up and get a new one torn by Sturt next weekend, while the 'Legs fans can snicker from the comfort of their lounge rooms.
