England 7/544 at stumps day three, lead by 186.
Root 150
Stokes 77*
Sundar 2/57

Root has gone past Ponting and now has the second most test match runs, he is 2539 runs behind Tendulkar. Root became the first player to score 1000 test runs at Old Trafford (1128 @70.5) and now has 38 test hundreds, the equal forth most with Sangakkara. It's the 12th hundred against India and 23rd at home.

Just a wonderful player Joe Root. His past 4 to 5 years has been unbelievable. Hard to see him not going past Tendulkar with how much cricket we play.

Can’t wait to see him have his colours lowered in Australia yet again this year. Would be fantastic to see him never ton up over here

Because he is key to them being competitive over here. He stinks it up again and we beat them 5-0 once again. I want to see them destroyed over here again

Good to see the Poms taking it well. Some of the carry on especially by the Ginger Ninja was pretty poor

It wasn’t just Stokes carrying on … kindergarten stuff really. Yep, ask the question, but once it’s politely knocked back, then play on.

To then carry on again after shaking hands out in the middle just shows how small minded Stokes and a few of his mates are. Pathetic.

Very well played by India in that last innings, both batsmen thoroughly deserved their hundreds.

It’s been an enthralling series, have enjoyed every bit of it.
