Agreed.
It looks as though the outgoing senators (i.e. whose terms expire 30 June) and a couple of other members/senators who aren't absolutely guaranteed re-election, all got to vote. Senators Reynolds and Hughes were openly supportive of Ley. Not sure about the others.
This means that the numbers could change a bit in a couple of months. I'm not sure whether the Liberal Party rules still permit mid-term spills or whether there'd be support to change horses early, but given the closeness of the vote, Ley will no doubt be looking over her shoulder.

The last government was a monumental f.up
They got lucky that the Coalition **** up this year
If the unrealised capital gains tax gets in, there will be a massive reaction
This is not a tax on the rich - it will be a tax on everyone

Initially it will be (min. $3m in super before taxed i believe) but once it is in, it will never go away and the boundaries will change.
