at least Warner had a defensive side to his game when needed, im not sure at this stage if this lad does have

I guess the days of batsman building an innings are on the way out in Australia and everyone seems happy with these type of players getting into the 20's and getting out

It's a bit of a case of "You don't know what you've got til it's gone" hey?

He doesnt bat like this in Shield cricket, he has adjusted his game to suit the conditions, some of the old blokes in the team could learn a lesson.
Im sure he has a defensive game and we will see that in SRi Lanka and next years Ashes. He wont get it any tougher for the rest of his career.
He will be a 100 Test cricketer albeit im sure he will get dropped at some point like all the stars did.

That is a huge generalisation, how do you know that's how Konstas thinks?

Oh and he was touted as a prodigy and potential Australian cricketer before his BBL debut.

Interesting to hear from those who don't like Konstas approach and don't want him playing as to who should be playing instead? I'm assume you guys would of stuck with McSweeney?
I would have stuck with McSweeney and dropped Uzi for Sam.
Place in team for both.
They would compliment each other
So you criticised him and asked to end the experiment but still want him in the team?
C’mon mate did you not see the smiley?
He’s in my team BUT he must tone down the sledging and show some respect to the opposition.
He’s young and he’ll learn but not sure who in the team brings him into line?
Maybe Cummins or Head.

I don’t care how he scores his runs as long as he’s positive and respectful
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Instructive - i.e. informative.

I can't help but notice that it's mainly grumpy old blokes like us that he's copping a roast from. I'm about as much of a cricket purist as it gets, but I can't help but think that the change in approach at the crease Konstas is bringing might pay dividends (arguably it already has). And gee he's copped a bit, seems pretty resilient as well though. :)
Got a spare ten

Exactly this ^^^^^^

A pair of 20’s is not setting the world alight but is also par for the course, if not just over given what both sides top 6 have produced. IF Australia get up an opening stance of 0/39 to start a small run chase is playing a role.

Yeah the second innings dismissal sounds like a bad look but it’s it lending into an almost identical scenario to Pant. You’re going to get the best out of Konstas when you take the good with the bad and accept it.

I think the best summary is that this test has shown equal measures of brilliance as well as lingering question marks and the answer to whether Konstas can make it as a test batsmen is no clearer.

What makes me laugh is most of us on here couldn’t remember or at least count on one hand the amount of teenage openers we have seen in our life time score a 50 and average 30 in a series. BUT because he has a bit of an attitude his the devils son.

The even funnier part is the chatter on here about McSwenney being the unluckiest bloke on the planet yet didn’t produce a third of what Konstas has. The SA bias in here is embarrassing given it’s a national team.

He is the sole reason we are 2-1 up.
Its no coincidence that Khawaja, Laba and Smith had their best performances of the series after Konstas turned the series on its head on Boxing day
Hang on, he won us the Test he didn’t play in? :-??

;)
As always he tries to double down his theories with bullshit.

Probably because grumpy old blokes like us have seen enough cricket to know its not sustainable and his talent might go to waste.
Get out of the 80’s.

Love been told we know better by a generation that thought king hits in footy were tough and playing professional test cricket hungover was a badge of honour.

No one is calling him the devils son.

Bat with aggression, bat with flair, shove it up them with the bat - no problem at all with any of that.

But crawl before you can walk with the mouth, call my old fashioned but you need to earn the right to get on the yap, and he hasn’t yet.

AU $1-25
IN $3-80
DRAW $101 =))

I will post this b4 it might happen
Travis Head-ache needs to play as he norMALly does
Attack- its whats made him who he is
If he plays a loose shot and is dismissed sobiet

The rest of the batsman need to be circumspect , have a mindset to play shots , but not to be reckless

100% just find it a laugh that there is a generation who think they are the authority on games standards when they pretty turned our national sport Aussies rules into a disgrace and cricket wise we saw bowlers kicking batsmen, batsmen raising bats at bowlers, crowds grabbing fielders, endless cases of racism.

Agree Kohli is a MArveLlous competitor and a brilliant batsman
However , on occasions his lack of respect is questionable

You think SK is showing adequate respect to the opposition and demonstrating an acceptable standard ?

His walking right on the edge. Having a chat to the bowler who is having a go at your fellow teammate I don’t have a problem with provided the language is cricket related. You can’t let a team bully you. To be honest the most disappointing moment of the series was seeing Kohli smash into Konstas only for Khawaja to wrap his arms around Kohli.

His age is irrelevant, teenagers have a voice these day and they’re going to use it, and generally they use it for a greater good than any generation before us.

The turning to the crowd and pumping them up, taking selfies who cares!!! Sports is entertainment whether we like it or not. I’m sure the kids he took selfies with will be back next year.
