Probably because grumpy old blokes like us have seen enough cricket to know its not sustainable and his talent might go to waste.RB wrote:Instructive - i.e. informative.Booney wrote:People are being instructed to do it?
I can't help but notice that it's mainly grumpy old blokes like us that he's copping a roast from. I'm about as much of a cricket purist as it gets, but I can't help but think that the change in approach at the crease Konstas is bringing might pay dividends (arguably it already has). And gee he's copped a bit, seems pretty resilient as well though.

So you criticised him and asked to end the experiment but still want him in the team?amber_fluid wrote:I would have stuck with McSweeney and dropped Uzi for Sam.The Dark Knight wrote:That is a huge generalisation, how do you know that's how Konstas thinks?locky801 wrote: Unfortunately these young kids get paid too much, believe the rubbish written about them in the media and on social media, they play one decent innings in the Mickey Mouse game and they are branded superstars
Oh and he was touted as a prodigy and potential Australian cricketer before his BBL debut.
Interesting to hear from those who don't like Konstas approach and don't want him playing as to who should be playing instead? I'm assume you guys would of stuck with McSweeney?
Place in team for both.
They would compliment each other

Its no coincidence that Khawaja, Laba and Smith had their best performances of the series after Konstas turned the series on its head on Boxing day

I'm not a huge fan but perhaps his talent is what he's dishing up? He's had the toughest initiation to test cricket and he's performed as good as any of our veterans.Booney wrote:Probably because grumpy old blokes like us have seen enough cricket to know its not sustainable and his talent might go to waste.RB wrote:Instructive - i.e. informative.Booney wrote:People are being instructed to do it?

He probably would've made SFA if he tried to bat correctly, everyone else has this test.

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
Apart from his first shazzam he has made SFA, not that he is an orphan
at least Warner had a defensive side to his game when needed, im not sure at this stage if this lad does have
I guess the days of batsman building an innings are on the way out in Australia and everyone seems happy with these type of players getting into the 20's and getting out

Re: Australian International Summer 2024/25
Its about balance, having your first 4 batsman as Boycott clones doesnt work. The best Australian teams have had at least one attacking batsman at the top of the order. He batted to the conditions. I note no one has made more than him yet in this innings.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:We might as well just play bazball if we believe that style is appropriateRB wrote:Instructive - i.e. informative.Booney wrote:People are being instructed to do it?
