Crows love half back flankers,so I'm sure he'll fit in.
Only averages 19 pos a game.
You would think that he's averaging 30 the way the media talk about him.

Re: SANFL 2024
I’m sure we all agree that the mid year draft has to go.
If AFL clubs can’t manage their lists for the full year with the multitude of drafts they have available to them then they are beyond help.
All non-AFL clubs are generally supportive of their players aspiring to AFL level, but to uproot players mid-season on a short term contract with all the cards with the AFL club and seemingly all the risk with the drafted player is ludicrous..
Can’t blame players for seeking out the opportunity, but ask Brett Turner and the like how it faarked them up.
All non-AFL clubs have this stupid risk of losing their best players mid-season with no recourse … it’s beyond dumb.
To top off the stupidity, Port or the Crows can effectively recruit the best players from SANFL clubs and have them playing against their clubs for the remainder of the season … and they have done it before.
There are more than enough drafts now, time to kill this monster. If AFL clubs can’t cope with their lists for a full season, then do it properly and increase their lists by one so that everyone knows where they’re at before a season starts, but of course that would be more expensive and incur an actual commitment to those players drafted in that last spot.

As fans i think we would all 100% agree.
Guys playing in the SANFL though would definitely want the mid-year draft.
The SANFL is in a pickle because they can't afford to lose fans, can't afford to lose players to country leagues and often the fans wants and players wants don't align.

Re: SANFL 2024
Spot on, at the very least they should guarantee a minimum 18 month contract so they can have a good run of staying on the list.

Agreed, minimum contract term of 18 months and minimum contract value of "x" dollars (a reasonable amount), to make their drafting decision cost something.

1. Why would the AFL make their own clubs 'decision' cost something.
2. Would the players want longer initial contracts if it meant less players overall were going to be drafted mid-season.....i don't know the answer to this. Gut feel is that as a collective they would want as many blokes getting a crack.
3. How many players are not nominating because of the shortened length of contract vs the number of players who do put themselves up for nomination.....once again don't know the answer, but there doesn't seem to be too many players coming out saying I'm not going to go if drafted etc.
The mid season draft is designed for the pure greed of the AFL clubs, the chances of them putting in restrictions to their own clubs so that SANFL clubs are less impacted are not going to happen.
Sadly whether we like it or not the SANFL players want the opportunity to get that one crack at AFL.

Re: SANFL 2024
In my post I stated that of course players want that opportunity and clubs generally are supportive, all I (and some others) are saying is that drafts should be conducted between seasons, not mid-season. I suggested adding an extra player to the list to compensate for the mid-season draft, but it seems that the AFL and clubs are he’ll bent on a ‘slave labour’ mid-season draft which is grossly unfair to all, including the player and affected clubs, except the AFL clubs.
How are players denied opportunities if the lists are increased?

SANFL has released the updated fixture for Rounds 12-18 of the 2024 Hostplus SANFL League season.
With only the first 11 rounds released at the start of the year due to the rolling AFL fixture, the schedule through to Round 18 is now locked away.
The five Round 19 games to conclude the minor round will be played on the weekend of Saturday August 24 but will be finalised once the AFL confirms its final minor round fixture.
The 2024 Hostplus SANFL Women’s League Grand Final also is locked in for 4.05pm on Saturday July 6 at The Parade, with Channel 7 confirmed to broadcast the title-decider live and free from 4pm.
In a first for SANFL, a super Sunday of Hostplus SANFL League footy will follow the SANFLW grand final day, with all five men’s League matches in Round 13 scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday July 7.
Round 14 sees South Adelaide’s home game against North Adelaide at Victor Harbor Oval – the third match to be played in a regional area this season – confirmed for 2.30pm on Saturday July 13. This will be a feature match of the 2024 Think! Road Safety SA Country Football Championships being held that weekend.
SANFL Friday night footy also returns in Round 18 when current top-of-the-table Norwood plays its final home match of the year against North Adelaide.
The second year of the Neil Kerley Memorial Match, played between West Adelaide and Adelaide, will be held at Adelaide Oval as a fitting curtain raiser to the Crows versus Western Bulldogs AFL match on Sunday August 11, with a 12.10pm start.
“This will provide both West Adelaide and Adelaide with a tremendous opportunity to honour Kerley in front of tens of thousands of fans at Adelaide Oval,” SANFL Head of Football Operations Sean Toohey said.
“The fixture points to a really exciting run home to the finals with some ladder-defining rounds set to feature in what’s already been a terrific season of Hostplus SANFL League footy.”
The 2024 series of SANFL Super Matches, presented by The Advertiser, also will continue to provide a super-charged festival atmosphere for footy fans of all ages at two matches: Sunday July 28 when Woodville-West Torrens hosts Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval, and Saturday August 17 for the West Adelaide versus Sturt clash at Hisense Stadium.
All Hostplus SANFL League finals will be played at the Adelaide Oval, starting on the weekend of August 31 through to the Grand Final on Sunday September 22.

Re: SANFL 2024
SANFL clubs should be compensated a lot for losing a player mid season at the very least IMO.
