Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Inability to field two sides should come with the consequence of guaranteed relegation end of the season.
What annoyed me is that these clubs rejected discussions for regrading.. **** them, if they can’t field two sides and it’s in the best interests of the comp to move them, then do it!
D5R is going to shit with two byes for teams.. D6R we going to have games where both our B and C grade don’t play. **** me.

Sheesh. I look forward to 60 goal thumpings all season in that case.Footy Chick wrote:Yes, has been locked in. All going to have one A grade team this season and reserves will be byes
These clubs have also been advised of the consequences of forfeiting on more than three occasions and have already had the expectations for re-registration in 2025 very clearly explained.

Boot em.. move em… sink em.
Their own arrogance and ego is their downfall.. we have been open about moving up to accomodate but they won’t budge so **** then let them die.

How long have Portland been struggling. Boot them
Other 2 sides play c grade.
Scrap Div 7 and make 4/5/6 divisions 12/13 teams.
More games to help clubs revenue plus players want to play more games.

Would love to know what players you’ve spoken to that want to play more than 18 games + potentially 3-4 finals.. Only one week off throughout in June! 18-20 year olds maybe but not a chance many above that age would be keen to extend the season!holdy2323 wrote:AgreeThe Bedge wrote:Boot em.. move em… sink em.

Good luck finding volunteers to donate even more time to a longer season. Venues in many cases won’t be available for longer seasons either as other sports take over.holdy2323 wrote:AgreeThe Bedge wrote:Boot em.. move em… sink em.

One of the sillier posts I've seen on here. Do you even understand the calendar. There are only just enough weeks outside of the summer sport season plus factoring in the gap between Easter and the AFL Grand Final to fit the current standard season of 18 home and away games and 4 weeks of finals.

There’s a lot of credibility in your comments, too many beers or not. I for one get it, wish I was on it with you, it would have been a great conversation.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Having 5/6 teams in D7 has more logic in the short term than playing 22 rounds in a 12 team comp. At least there will be grounds available.holdy2323 wrote:Was just a suggestion for the year.Down the Hill wrote:One of the sillier posts I've seen on here. Do you even understand the calendar. Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Would there be any issue if a club, who only have 1 team, played in the C grade comp for a few years? At least it gives them an avenue and time to try and rebuild while not mucking around the clubs with 2+ teams.

I think the League rules is that you have to have 2 teamsDutchy wrote:Would there be any issue if a club, who only have 1 team, played in the C grade comp for a few years? At least it gives them an avenue and time to try and rebuild while not mucking around the clubs with 2+ teams.

If only... But yet here we are, having to play ~18 genuine C graders in division 6 A grade.Dutchy wrote:Would there be any issue if a club, who only have 1 team, played in the C grade comp for a few years? We asked multiple times to go down, but the league are firm on their decision.

without being silly here, Eliz used to have a great Junior program, plenty of cash in the bank, a decent and solid seniors program... what happened? surely some massive questions have to be asked about the decisions of upper management of the past 4-5 years or so?

We still have decent juniors, we've just lost basically two whole teams over the last couple years.
