Green and Starc provide the selectors with some headaches. If Starc comes in it will be for Boland who i thought was better than his figures suggested. Starc adds some much needed depth to the batting line up however.
Green is real tricky...can he bowl (?) I would have him in either way, if he can bowl that provides the selectors with a ton of options. Play him as the second fast bowler and add an extra batsmen, play him as the second fast bowler and play a third genuine spinner, play him as the third fast bowler and leave the structure of the side the same as the first test.
Given Cummins came out during the week and said that it was just one test and he had faith the team picked was the best 11 they had available i cant see Warner being dropped (especially given Renshaw should go first).
Starc also adds footmarks for the spinners to hit.
That could work against our right hand batters.
Yep and if we lose the toss and bowl first those foot marks are doing India more good than ourselves.
I reckon the whole 'they bring footmarks' is the most over-valued attribute in cricket. Lose the toss and it works against you.
