Mad Max film crew taking up all the rooms I guess.
they all left earlier in the week when i was there, think perhaps all the road crews doing roadworks out Cockburn way might be the reason, theres very little around

I’m there in a couple of weeks for work. My work budget is $300 a night. I might have to chip in the difference here if it is ‘hosted’.
hopefully you have got something booked, i just had to book again for 5 July and theres very little on offer, got in at the Oasis for around 200 a night

Nope. I normally book last minute.
I’m not keen on going so hopefully everything is fully booked out
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
Another huge delay out from Tasmania, missed my connection in Melbourne so they put me in a hotel for the night.
10 hours later, they still can’t find my bag.

Under Joyce it’s gone from our no 1 airline, acclaimed worldwide to a laughing stock. The damage that little grub has done to so many is criminal.
I’m not a huge fan of Joyce despite working closely with Qantas and Joyce looking after us extremely well. Some of the moves had to be made to secure long term success and viability but unfortunately customer service has taken a big hit. He has recently indicated internally that he is staying for a few more years which I’m ok with as the couple of candidates next in line are far worse. In the aviation world he is considered one of the best CEO’s in the business
You’re in la la land Jim.

What part? I’ve stated their customer service is bad and despite working with Qantas I don’t fly them outside of work jobs and much prefer Virgin Australia. I rarely fly Qantas overseas either because I don’t rate their product but the new fleet will be far better. They are very good partners though and look after us extremely well
We used to stay at Mulberry Vales just out of town over the train line on the way to Menindee, was so much better than anything in town then and was so peaceful, had BBQ area, a swimming hole, plenty of open space and cabins. Hated staying in town, had to do it once. Mind you that was in the late 90s, things may have changed since then.

In the last 3 months we've had Covid-19, common cold, gastroenteritis and now hand, foot and mouth! FFS
Its horrible at the time but it pays off long term, both my boys have had the best immune systems after getting everything in the early days at childcare
missing two weekends in a row firstly being a household contact for covid, and then having covid myself, only for my first day "out" being a monday and being at work...
