A first round pick is a big WIN for the crows if they got that for Burton coz he aint worth s***t!!!!
The crows have a heap that are worth nothing.....Shirley Dougherty Massie Bode Torney...... all border line players that arent worth nothing in trade week....
Every team has fringe players Grub.
But you're right in the crows having "a heap" of them.
And the players coming through aren't much better either.
I think Burton's ability classes him out of the fringe players category, IMO he would be in most team's starting 22. (this will cause a riot)
Mattner was one of my favourites at the Crows, but i agree, Mattner for second round pick, Crows, do your homework, find a player which will ACTUALLY DEVELOP into a top flight player and not a lurker in the shadows.
Look at the class of 2001.
Luke Ball, Luke Hodge, Dane Swan, Nick Dal Santo, James Bartel, Steve Johnson, Jarrad Waite, Sam Mitchell, Gary Ablett Jnr, Chris Judd etc etc.
The Crows got Brent Rielly, and two blokes called Ben Finnin and Jacob Schuback as their first three picks, while trading pick 28 for Ryan Fitzgerald.
It's this trade period they really have to knuckle down, get the best value they can from their picks.
They simply haven't done good enough in the past.
