Playing, perhaps unexpectedly, TTG in the GF.

Fantastic effort by Johnson and Buckingham to bowl 34 and 33 overs respectively and manage to finish off Sturt relatively quickly this morning. Considering Sturt’s opener cramped up in his 17th over today, it is an impressive performance of perseverance and fitness. It can’t be easy steaming in at that pace hours on end on a pretty lifeless pitch.

I thought if we had under 400 to chase with more than 70 overs we were a chance with the firepower of the top 4 in particular. Luck went our way. After a pair last week, Smith looked like he was dropped 2nd ball at point and nicked one through slips off the leggy on 50, but ultimately won the match off his bat. He is all class - I would be surprised if anyone has scored more centuries for the club in its 160 odd years existence. Drew with almost a run-a-ball 98 kept the run rate well and truly in check and Nielsen and Fallins, both with BBL experience, didn’t panic in chasing down the target with an over and a half to spare.

It is a well balanced side at full strength and one which has hit form and the right amount of luck at the right time of year. Tea Tree Gully are also flying, especially with the ball. Should be a great game next weekend.

The Phantom Bradman Medal count has been completed and after predicting the past five winners the results for tomorrow night are in :D

Winner is Will Bosisto (Adelaide Uni) with 31 votes.

Second is Thomas Kelly (Sturt) with 27 votes and Third is Josh Doyle (Kensington) with 23 votes.

Normally a close count but predicting a pretty easy win this year, the umps love the all rounders.

I'm hearing that there's a few Covid cases going through the Redbacks. It would be interesting to see if any of the participants in the GF get caught up in it from being at training/meetings (i.e. as cases or close contacts).

Yes, this is a huge worry.

Dalton missed for Kensy last week which was costly for them.

Think there will definitely be some players affected who will have to miss but that's the world we live in now unfortunately

Very rarely works out that way.

Umpires give votes on keeper each game, where as TOY voting includes runs made which sways peoples views.

Was abbreviated night, they were all cut from being presented on the night.

Hopefully SACA don't take till August to post all the votes like normal

WT would have bowled, with their batting they fancy chasing anything like they did in Semi against Sturt. Advantage TTG now as can block out draw tomorrow easier.

Would the possible strategy be to try to declare 40 minutes before stumps, hopefully with a score of over 300 on the board?

TTG haven’t scored over 300 all year. I reckon it’s a big advantage to bat first if they can bat well. Definitely would be looking to bowl tonight one way or another.

Other states have semi pro commentators and/or stream through Kayo. SACA can’t even get vision through for the biggest Premier Cricket game of the year. Pathetic.

Would love to, my biggest annoyance is stuff like this.

Unfortunately, we are all in isolation due to COVID/close contact.

The one time need it to be working, knew this would happen

Spot on BP. 300 and 10-12 overs tonight.

Unfortunately two key wickets so that’s a way off yet.

How do you get run out in a two day game FFS!!

Heard from ground run out off the bowlers hand at non strikers end. That has to be the worse way to get out in cricket. You know it’s your day when stuff like that happens
