For me it's the conditions. It's bloody hard to bat in England. Even Kholi looks like a mere mortal. The Duke toy hoops around something fierce and 280 is a good score. You score 500 first up anywhere and you've all but batted the opposition out of the game. What has made this series entertaining is that the ball has dominated and every big innings has been a hard fought affair. I thought Vaughan summed up England really well 'we are a good team when it's a 280 test but we don't have enough variation in the attack or depth in batting when it is a 400 test'.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
The next big upcoming test series is between India and New Zealand starts November 25th and the second test starts December 3rd. I believe the series will be televised on Foxtel along with T20 series.
Sri Lanka will host the West Indies in a 2 test series starting November 21st while Bangladesh will host Pakistan in another 2 test series starting November 26th.

With both formats it will be an extended stay in the sub-continent for Williamson, Southee, Santner, Mitchell, Phillips and Jamieson.

Sri Lanka v West Indies, first test in Galle
SL 386
Karunaratne 147, the captains 13th test ton.
Chase 5/83
WI currently 0/30.
Windies debutant Jeremy Solozano has been subbed out of the match after having the ball hit him flush on the grill of his helmet while fielding at short leg during SL innings. Roston Chase dropped short and Karunaratne playing a pull shot, middled the ball straight into Solozano.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's
West Indies have a big chase to win the first test as Sri Lanka are well in control.
WI first innings 230
SL second innings 4/191 declared, Karunaratne made 83 to go with his hundred in the first innings.
WI second innings 3/14, need 334 to win.
India v NZ starts tomorrow, both teams will be missing first choice players, especially India.
No Kolhi, Rohit, Rahul, Pant, Bumrah and Shami for India and NZ will be without Boult, Conway and De Grandhomme.

Iyer 66*
Jadeja 37*
Jamieson 3/38
No impact from NZ's spin trio of Ajaz Patel, Will Somerville and debutant Rachin Ravindra.
Sri Lanka ended up winning by 187 runs against the West Indies. WI made 160 in their second innings, Bonner (68*) and keeper de Silva (54) put on 100 for the 7th wicket but it was all in vain. Left arm spinner Embuldenyia took 5/46 from 29 overs with 12 maidens.

Great figures from Southee, was swinging the ball in the first session and bowled a couple rippers to get rid of Saha and Axar Patel.locky801 wrote:India done and dusted for 345

Interesting to see how NZ goes with the bat now, especially against Ashwin, Jadeja and Patel
