Can you not go to bed later?

I was contemplating that option, it's probably half the problem as I used to always go to bed late, I just get bored now.

I too sleep like shit. Bed around 9-9:30, I was up for my old man piss around 2-3am ( all good boys, had it checked ) and toss* and turn for an hour or so before the alarm goes off at 6.

My plantar fascia is on the improve so I've started doing a walk after work and I don't look at my phone in bed, no screen time in the last half hour before bed and I'm finding I'm going to sleep faster and staying asleep longer, usually until 4 ish but then I'm awake.

I fall asleep fine (for the first time), I'm pretty much done with it though when I wake at 1-2.

There's been some massive changes in my life recently and my mind is alive and fully buzzing once I'm awake again.

Perhaps part of it is your medication - maybe speak to your doctor about changing the time of day that you take this (if you can)

My question today is for the computer nerds out there

Which is better - pentium or AMD Athalon?
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Intel is better bang for buck.
Asking which is better is hard to answer as a top of the range AMD Ryzen is better than and Intel I3 but an Intel I9 is much better than a cheap AMD.
It's like comparing Holden to Ford, Holden Caprice > Ford Focus but Ford Mustang > Holden Barina!.

I know its not overly 'cool' for blokes but I use meditation and it has worked wonders.

I've always been someone whos struggles to switch off and had similar sleeping patterns to what you described. I start work at 5:30am each morning so try to get to bed between 9pm-10pm. Most nights I would wake up around midnight thinking about reports/tasks/issues/that minor email i forgot to send and wouldn't fall back to sleep until 3am-4pm.

10 minutes of meditation before bed has changed all that and now I sleep like a baby most nights. Plenty of free apps out there to get started.

Generally when I’m stressed I don’t sleep. I bought a
Shakti Mat I lie on, and I listen to Meditation sounds, or deep sleep rain sounds. Usually knocks me out quickly.

Gives me really weird dreams & I end up waking up because of them

Ever tried a weighted blanket.
Also I used to have a lot of trouble sleeping then when I had MRI scans done on my shoulder (need a replacement) the specialist prescribed anti inflammatories (not voltaren) & I'm sleeping a lot better. Now I usually get a decent 5 hour sleep before I wake up (instead of 45 minutes here & there with an hour trying to get back to sleep) & I can usually get back to sleep ok.

I barely use a sheet, I get hot sleeping, even in the middle of winter.

Your previous sleeping pattern sounds like mine.

May have to look into that, last time I struggled I ended up getting some latex pillows on advice from a friend, they worked a treat, perhaps I should replace them?

If using one, it's recommended to have a maximum of 10% of your body weight so the one I've got weighs 9kg (heaviest one available). They're not so much a blanket to keep you warm as they are more to calm/relax the body while sleeping
I get hot sleeping too so not using it at the moment, I sleep in boxers with a fan on during winter while the wife is in full pyjamas.

Cheers mate, I'll investigate, I've slept well this week, that's due to a head cold and the wonders of Codral though at a guess.

Did they ever find that bloke who went missing in the boat? Having been interstate and no social media, I forgot all about it.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.
