Three of South Adelaide’s managed players have slotted into its starting 18 for the First Semi Final against Glenelg at Adelaide Oval.

Goalsneak Beau McCreery, veteran utility Alex Cailotto and pacy wingman Malcolm Karpany have all been named after spending last round on the sidelines as a precaution.

Big-bodied midfielder Jesse McKinnon has been listed on the extended interchange together with exciting teenager Jason Horne and defender James Loneragan, who hasn’t played since hurting his back in Round 10.

Former Tiger Ben Sawford will miss the rest of the season after injuring his hamstring last Sunday while Cam McGree was omitted from the squad.

HF: Sampson, Overall, Schwarz

C: Karpany, Broadbent, Milsom

Magarey Medallist Luke Partington (knee) has been listed on the extended interchange bench with rugged utility Brad McCarthy.

Jackson Edwards has been named to start in the centre square after being elevated from the Reserves.

Defender Matt Merrett and forward Tom Condon have been cut from last week’s side which beat Sturt.

The teams have met in 2 Elimination Finals at least
1992
GL 24-10 [154]
SA 15-13 [103]

2011
SA 14-17 [101]
GL 10-10 [70]

SA have never scored less than a total of 100 points in all EFs against GL

There might be more finals played between the teams ?
Perhaps Spell_Check could answer my Q

I'm pretty sure those are the only finals South Adelaide have played against Glenelg. Seem to recall this came up in 2011, possibly on here.

There was an unofficial PRE-limination final, the winner of which would make the Elimination Final, in the final round of 2006. South won. Mouse got reported but was cleared #:-S and went on to win the Magarey Medal. Someone from South was also reported (Kewpie Doll?) and given a match. From memoery South won the Elimination but went down in the First semi.

Not in the league they haven't.

Out of the four remaining teams, historically South actually have the best October record.

Quite incredible
These sides have been playing each other since 1921 and only met twice in finals

Not in the league they haven't.

Out of the four remaining teams, historically South actually have the best October record.

North have won 7 of their 14 flags in October, 1930, 1931, 1949, 1952, 1960, 1987 and 1991.
South won all of their 3 flags in the 20th century in October

Lets clarify the best October record, as a %, South has the best:

South 3-2 (last, 1964 GF) 60%
Eagles 5-4 (last, 2011 GF) 55.6%
North 8-11 (last, 2013 GF) 42.1%
Glenelg 3-8 (last, 2008 GF) 27.3%

Turned down a drink so you can sit in the drink ... unless you scored an undercover seat. If so, be sure to wave at us plebs getting drenched in the open seats.
