Things may have changed but I think you still need to be tied to a SANFL club to get drafted even if just a top up player for Port and Crows hence why Farrar was eligible to nominate likewise Hutchesson who was a regular top up for the Crows this year.

Legit question though, would this type of scenario have something to do with coaches still expecting payment for services rendered despite there possibly not being a season?
