How does he end up with the job at the Crows then? Surely they would have contacted people at the SANFL and at the Clubs to find out what he is like? After the mistake of giving Burton the job in the first place the Crows can't really afford to get this one wrong again...

Don’t know mate, just passed the message along. Could be the SANFL folk have it wrong, could be they’re disgruntled because they feel he gave the local sides some SANFL concessions the SANFL-only clubs objected to? I was told Fagan was pretty desperate to have him appointed so the Crows were pretty keen to secure him.

If a business is going to redevelop an already existing commercial site, then I don't see a problem.
Firstly, some parkland development doesn't really bother me, redeveloping an already existing site really should cause no issues with anyone, even the tree huggers. I do however think the federal government pitching in $15m is a bridge too far. If Crowcorp.com.au* want to develop it, let them foot the bill.
Footnote - played cricket on one of the ovals on the southern side of the aquatic centre years and years and year ago, against Rose Park's lower grades, The ground was so dry and had cracked that badly that you would put a cricket ball in the cracks.

Appreciated.
Crowcorp.com.au have presented the angle that it is for all South Australians to enjoy which is why they are getting the Government grant.
If I recall the calculations correctly only about 1.5% of the state population ever attend and AFL match in SA.

Even using basic maths that can't even be close to be true. 1.5% of the state is 24,000. The Crows get double that to a lot of one off games. Taking into account both Crows and Power fans and people who go once or twice a year like me I'd say it would be closer to 10%. Throw in a lot of tourists from interstate/overseas on top of that.

I don't think so, I was there recently and it's actually not all that bad in there. Yes the facilities are dated and the main lap pool needs some work but it is still a good facility and perhaps not in as bad condition as the pro AFC people want us to believe.
Could it do with an injection of cash, sure it could as any old facility could, but to say it will close down if the crowd don't take it over is the opposite end of the scale to the PPS and old mate Denise.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards
