How does he end up with the job at the Crows then? Surely they would have contacted people at the SANFL and at the Clubs to find out what he is like? After the mistake of giving Burton the job in the first place the Crows can't really afford to get this one wrong again...JK wrote:According to a SANFL official I spoke with about a month ago, this was always likely to happen and all SANFL clubs are pretty happy he's gone. Re: Adelaide Crows 2020
Don’t know mate, just passed the message along. Could be the SANFL folk have it wrong, could be they’re disgruntled because they feel he gave the local sides some SANFL concessions the SANFL-only clubs objected to? I was told Fagan was pretty desperate to have him appointed so the Crows were pretty keen to secure him.reppoh_eht wrote:How does he end up with the job at the Crows then? I don't know him, but one thing that is clear they have gone for a non-footy person, with skills that Burton obviously didn't have.

Even using basic maths that can't even be close to be true.Psyber wrote: If I recall the calculations correctly only about 1.5% of the state population ever attend and AFL match in SA.
1.5% of the state is 24,000.
The Crows get double that to a lot of one off games.
Taking into account both Crows and Power fans and people who go once or twice a year like me I'd say it would be closer to 10%.
Throw in a lot of tourists from interstate/overseas on top of that.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2020
I don't think so, I was there recently and it's actually not all that bad in there. Yes the facilities are dated and the main lap pool needs some work but it is still a good facility and perhaps not in as bad condition as the pro AFC people want us to believe.Brodlach wrote:Might close if the Crows don’t take it over, no one wins
Could it do with an injection of cash, sure it could as any old facility could, but to say it will close down if the crowd don't take it over is the opposite end of the scale to the PPS and old mate Denise.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Re: Adelaide Crows 2020
Losing a far bit of coin each year and with the Marion Centre is unlikely to attract any major events to get funding for the lift in facilities it requires
