i smell a rat....sanfl poll

Postby bayman » Sat Sep 15, 2007 1:55 pm

there is a poll concurrently conducted on the sanfl site regarding the 'rising stars' which i found out on snouts to 'support jack' which i thought yeah why not & as i logged on to the sanfl & read the names & criterior, i thought no there are better players on that list than him so i voted for greenwood but here is a list of those i think should be up there & to me it is baffling & i smell a rat

votes...............name of player...................%ages
46...................summerton..........................2%
24....................greenwood.........................1%
3......................aish..................................0%
0......................salter................................0%
804...................wundke.............................38%

now i would not argue with wundke winning it but i would strongly argue that he should not be that far in front it is too much a descrepancy & that is the big smelly rat(s) i smell, i bet you next year the public will not get a vote on it after this

total votes at this stage is 2,144
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Its my understanding that this poll is worth $500 and is purely a supporters view and doesnt count towards the actual award.

It seems to be a 1 vote per computer per day situation. So I guess you can vote for who you like once a day until it closes. Therefore it is really only a popularity contest rather than a reflection on actual performance.

It is a contest as to which club has the nerdiest supporters who can work out how to vote multiple times and who can then be stuffed clicking on a particular person thousands of times in a row...

Makes the thing a complete joke.

Wundke woukld have recieved a lot of early votes after Barrie Robran publicised it on the NAFC site, but looking at the current results, I can smell a rat.

You definiately smell a rat, look at Blessing and Fosdikes votes, Blessing jumped 1000 in less than 10 minutes jumped from 803 to 1876 and Fosdike wasn't even in the race with less than 2% at 11.00am this morning. Both now over 2000 in the time I have written this!!!!!!

Total votes at 5.10pm 6364. I wonder what it will be in another 10 minutes????

Total votes now 5.20pm is 7019. (all votes going to Blessing and Fosdike)

Typical SANFL bungle by not restricting the vote to one vote per IP adress per day which is common with on line polls, . I would think that now the SANFL will have to close it down thereby denying people a fair and accurate conclusion.

I hope the idiots that make ridiculous amount of votes realise noone will get the $500 out of it if it appears tampered as it is.
If you're going to rig it, at least make it look realistic.
Morons.

They should get us to run the vote for them as our software is more reliable! :D

The only morons are the SANFL people who set up the poll.

If there is a loophole, then someone will always jump through it!

Its not australian idol
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

And that fact makes it quite sad for the SANFL. To rank behind Idol is shameful.
