He was trying to kick the ball away from Nick Gill, that's the whole idea of a close contest with an opposition player, you get it away from him. It was actually to Collingwood's disadvantage at that stage if the ball went out (and its what Gill would have been striving for it he had the chance), Wakelin would have liked to have kept it in play.
Common sense.
But that's not even the issue even though its a non issue, the point I made was "If umpires had any sort of conisistency to their game it wouldn't have been called in a million years (or a million others that are let go would be called)."

IMHO it was about 5m away but even if it wasn't why pay that and not pay frees when players are hip and shouldering each other 150 metres away from the ball?
That was against Porplyzia. Disgraceful decision. The ball was right there.
And what about the in the back paid against Massie to Buckley? The PERFECT tackle.

sydney-dog wrote:Great win by the club, even though we are not in the top 4 we do go in to the finals with some confidence, we have won 4 out of our last 5 games and have a good record against other top 8 sides, Sydney, Power, Kanga's, Hawks and Collingwood.
On the up side, last night we still did not play our best footy, so hopefully their is more improvement to come
The Crows should attack the finals with a everything to gain, nothing to lose mentality
Great to see Gill continuing his good footy, my view is, youu can be extremely confident that McGregor will be at either Richmond or WB next year, Perrie at Freo and Messen to Carlton

I hope you're kidding?????
I'm not going to comment further on the umpires.
But great win Adelaide. Held sway and each time we reeled you in, you managed to pull away.
Plus our disposal was poor. We turned over the ball at least three times that resulted directly in Crows goals. Poor.
Great to see the old warhorses Riccuito and Buckley having an influence at various points too.

You guys normally get a good run, every now and then you will get a few against you.

Typical one eyed Crow bull5hit. You guys got a 9-2 flying start courtesy of the maggots. They then squared it up but delivered the coup de grace to decide the game with that Wakelin call. Ungrateful peanut.

* Clarke holding the ball by Knights
* Clarke holding the ball by Gill
* Buckley in the back against Massie
* Gill not getting in the back
Yes we had some frees paid to us that weren't there, but the Pies also got some very favourable decisions.
