How this hasnt been captured I will never know... Was it a Channel 7 game?

This encompasses everything that is wrong with the AFL at the moment.

Any league, any where, you throw your mouthguard at a player, you would get reported.
More so if you are right in front of the umpire who is setting the mark on the goal line.

Booney what is the difference between throwing your mouthguard and throwing mud (AFL players dont get much mud to play with these days)?
I have never seen anyone ever get reported for throwing a mouthguard, including myself chucking my mouthguard after a shonky decision v Kangies a few years ago (Although it was worth a 50 m, but that was probably the barrage of expletives that accompanied it)
Another p!ssweak reason for the AFL to collect extra $$ in my book.

Have you seen the footage? He was standing the mark on the goal line. The Bulldogs players was taking his kick and just as he kicked he threw the mouth guard at his head. It only just missed. If it was just throwing his mouth guard down on the ground then fair enough it shouldn't be reportable but he threw it at his opponents head.
Sure it's a pretty soft report but you can't have blokes getting away with chucking their mouth guards at other blokes heads all day. The only alternatives are to either ignore it and see a mouth guard chucked at every player taking a shot for goal from now on, or award a free kick and another shot at goal. I'm sure the fine would go down better than giving another shot at goal.

Hey I like the second kick at goal solution - real impact in response to impactful intent!

What my concern is, is that Johnson is being penalised for an injury that (potentially) happened, which was more unfortunate, than being his fault.
2) Baker/Farmer- this is the very incidents the VFL/AFL/SANFL/WAFL have been trying to remove from our game.
In their "endeavours" to clean up the game, it is akin to the AFL Police running around fining people for littering & parking infringements, whilst ignoring the more obvious murders & armed robberies...
