Cricket page, A grade captain been named, bloke whose 50 and was playing 6th XI last year and struggling congratulated.. i commented saying heard he's opening the batting in the A grade.

He took the bait, then another player piped up and complimented the rumour.. he fell hook line and sinker despite being a very poor player.

Today he messaged the captain with his contact details for when he needs him lol.

When I was about 16 I was hanging out at Semaphore with a mate.

He thought he was a gun footballer. He was above average, but nothing great.

Someone rang him while I was with him, saying they were from the Port Maggies, and they saw him play for Districts. They wanted him to come out to train with the 18's, but they thought he'd shown enough at Districts to warrant a run in the Ressies.

Being the arrogant guy he was, he took it hook, line and sinker. They rang him back about half an hour later to break it to him. Lucky social media was a year or two away still, or he would have been bragging about it straight away.

The aforementioned bloke is often a pain in my arse, but I honestly think he means well.

That was the last play of the game. They needed 80 yards and a TD to win. That's pretty much the only time you'll see plays like that in the NFL.
