When was the Friday night footy ever live?

Only when the Crows or Power played away from Adelaide. But, it's still annoying...

In Qld Fox viewers get live Friday Night Football on Main Event. For those up north who rely on FTA, the game doesn't start till 11.30pm. Seven hasn't got the balls to take on Thugby League.

If it's played interstate they still do (well last one I'm pretty sure they did). If at AAMI they delay it...

Crows and especially Port games attendances are bad enough put a game live and they'll be even worst. Sevens commentary is woeful Sam Newman on the footy show was right that 5 year old kid had more to offer then the Ox. If you want to easy the pain Mute the TV and stick BT, Gary and the old 9 crew on the radio to live games they were far better callers then these C7 clowns

Spot on...this is a bit of mongering by Channel 9 re that one...Seven should show it live then they can at least shove that bit up Eddie's ass ! :D

The mongering was actually started by C7 when C9 had the footy, C9 are just reciprocating and rightfully so.

Very very short memories the lot of you. CC has never watched motor racing, tennis or the Olympics obviously and C7 ground broke so much in the AFL while C9 was just dreaming about it. Eddie makes commentary sound like an Almost Footy Legends segment and nowhere near professional. Fox is the network killing not only Footy but most other sports also. No EPL for our kids to grow up watching and soon no Test Cricket. Nine would be in the same boat. Give me a break about BT also. Speaking of the over-rated he is as bad as Sandy used to be and Sandy never played. Wake up and smell the roses fellas.

LOL you're right Eddie was a crap commentator with his fake "excitement", but as long as i've watched footy i've never seen camera work as bad as ch 7's and the focusing on Burton on Sunday for a minute or so was just absolutely shocking, thats certainly worth complaining about, and fans shouldn't have to put up with it.

I couldn't care less about motor racing but Seven's stockpiling means that it stops the footy being screened live from interstate no matter where you are (cue the 12th Man's Murray Walker skit 'the cars just keep going round and round'). PS. What does the V8 motor racing rate?

Tennis is best shunted off to Fox Sports so nobody can find it (the pathetic sport that it is ... make it more lively by allowing sledging or even contact in the form of hip and shoulders between changeovers  ) and the Olympics, well don't start me on the fact that 95% of it concentrates on 3 or 4 of the 30-odd sports (athletics, swimming, gymspastics and hockey) and is delayed to the point of insignificance (a lot of events were screened after the radio and TV announced the winners at Sydney in 2000 FFS!).

Seven are all talk and no action. They have the most boring commentary team by a mile - Bwucey is over the hill, Watson and Schwarz are yes men and Olarenshaw - what is his purpose, please?!? It smacks of budget television. They have to ensure the $780 million cost doesn't edge towards $781 million after adding the production costs! (Cue Sam Newman's 'steam camera' skit on the Footy Show!)

The highlight of my weekend viewing is when I see that Seven are using Foxtel footage on certain Sunday games (otherwise the telly goes off and the radio on). It means we get more cameras and better commentary. I pity Dennis for moving there and working the way he does now - I wish he was still doing the sport on Nine Perth.

Sorry for late reply TL (Very busy)
I guess I gave up on commentary a long time ago. I really like to just watch the games mostly with the sound turned off. Occassionally I'll listen in but the amount of crap served leads me to turning the sound off again. Didn't mind Dermies analysis occasionally but also feel the best commentator going around is Clinton Grybass now on 3AW. Try watching a 1/4 or 2 on mute it's a little addictive and you certainly won't miss the drivell or the egos.
