West Torrens have been pretty bloody good across men's, women's and junior cricket for a long time. Not too many clubs ahead of them over the last 10-15 years.

As with the view of previous posters on here, I can't see the Under 19 team as being a viable long-term solution. Hopefully, they are just being used as a short-term option to make it look as if SACA have actually achieved something by eliminating the bye, rather than having just lost the case against WT and PA. A team from either the Barossa or Mount Barker would seem to be the way to go for the future.
Cheers

Great work by all involved at both clubs by why did it take SACA's decision "to galvanise both West Torrens and Port Adelaide to be even stronger clubs this year", shouldn't they be doing that in the first place :-k

By galvanise, I meant a lot of off-field aspects, not on-field. The proposed decision by SACA saw a heck of a lot of former players come back to help out at the club, plus a huge amount of sponsors came on board (partly due to the efforts of these former players). Every player at West Torrens and Port Adelaide have always given of their best, however, by 'club', I meant the wider picture. Perhaps you think that a club is only the players on the field.... it is in fact a lot, lot bigger than that. I am sure you would love to see a huge amount more of Glenelg's past players back at the club helping out, like has happened at West Torrens this year.
Cheers

Who's responsibility is it to have a pitch prepared?

SACA scheduled a women's match last night at Rosewater, firstly it's got me beat why they would use this below standard ground on a week night, secondly, the Port girls copped a shellacking from the Kensi girls calling them cheats as the pitch wasn't prepared, there wasn't even crease lines painted.
Given the fact that Port needed the win to secure top spot, the abuse hurled their way was unwarranted as they were all keen to play.

Port's home game.....their responsibility as it's not a SACA prepared deck.

I thought that might be the case, strange scheduling, the pitch is third rate at the best of times, Port or Nazer Reserve would've been a far more apt venue.

Other women's games were cancelled yesterday? Meant to be a game at Price Memorial which was cancelled.

Run by either East Torrens or TTG blokes is my guess, the good oil to be sourced from the Woolshed on a Saturday night.....

So the U19s into 1st Grade. Will there be teams entered in 2nds, 3rds, 4ths too or will they still have the bye?

And was there a proposal about the junior structure too?

Round 11

A few absolutely crucial matches this round. Should be a beauty.

Northern District vs Prospect - both teams have struggled this season. Jets unlucky that the rain thwarted them last week. Prospect made 400+ and then skittled Kensington the week after for 124 but no wins to show for it. Think the winner will come down to whoever makes more runs out of Sam Miller and Mark Cosgrove.

Glenelg vs West Torrens - match of the round! I have some doubts over the Bays bowling but they ran through Southerns for 84 last week. West Torrens dodged a bullet last week but a good, even side with a balanced attack. Dom Bess back in after a broken finger. Think WT in a tight one.

Tea Tree Gully vs Southern District - TTG were the big winners last week, sitting out their bye while Port & East Torrens lost and other teams drew. Time for them to switch into finals mode. I fear that SD will cop a shellacking here.

Kensington vs Adelaide - Valente, Ross, Worrall and Opie miss out on Shield selection so I assume will front here. Good standard game. Browns at home.

Woodville vs University - outright win for Uni breathed some life into their season. Loser here is eliminated from the finals race. Winner lives to fight another day. Will come down to Agar & Winter vs the Woodville top order. Weatherley must be a decent player. Has been churning them out since he arrived. Think Woodville will get the points here.

Port Adelaide vs East Torrens - last roll of the dice for East Torrens you feel. Must win game. Port still have the bye to come so vital for them too. Port are the team East Torrens needs to replace in the four so effectively an '8 point game.' Huge stakes. Have a feeling it will be fiery! Ludemann injured during the week? Could tip things in East Torrens favour if he's out.

Sturt sit out with the bye and will be praying that TTG and/or Port lose.

How did Glenelg pull off adjusting the date of their semi and therefore the final at the last minute? Do they run the show?

Now the final won't feature any Redbacks players as a Shield game is on and Glenelg get the added bonus of having Sayers and Carey playing for them against Tea Tree Gully in the Semi-Final, who presumably won't have Head as he's playing T20 for Australia.
