Re: CH9AFL Division 5, 2016
Seems we can not beat Rosewater at home in the first half of the season Beefy, 2014, 2015, 2016, although the margin is getting closer ...

Perhaps it's the time of the year because we also knocked you off in R6 2013.

indeed you did. too good on Saturday, well organised, very disciplined and put the foot down a couple of times to skip away.
hopefully the historical second half of the season results between us will continue as well then.

Definitely the same person, have known he's been playing all year, and I saw him Saturday and spoke to him, and he confirmed it.
No excuses - coach is a former Ingle Farm coach, he knows he would need a clearance and that he last played at Ingle Farm.. A quick search of SportingPulse would've shown it up too.
Zartan I think u have it wrong. Ingle farm had his date of birth wrong in sporting pulse so when CBC registered him with his correct dob the system didn't pick up he needed a clearance.

Crap.... Most of them answer the call???? We have never had a bloke refuse to play a particular grade.
Minus injuries & availability we field our strongest side every week. CBC has extremely good depth in our midfield which filters through the grades. We don't have height.... That's a major reason why we haven't been stronger in the A's. Not to mention the difference in class between the 3 grades.

Sorry, I don't buy that.. even if the wrong date was originally entered, section 1a of the player registration form states playing history declaration over the last 5 years.
So either the player lied on his form and didn't complete it, or CBCOC elected to ignore the fact.. Name search in the system without the DOB would've returned the player.
Also Ingle Farm didn't enter it incorrectly - who ever originally did his registration must've - we had no trouble finding his record and clearing him when he came to the club.

Guess it doesn't matter now anyway, hasn't stopped CBCOC playing him despite clearance still pending - even against his former club, and the SAAFL obviously have allowed it because they still sit equal top on 10 points..

Have Ingle Farm made a formal complaint?

Yes - the Saturday evening after he played against Ingle Farm.
Ingle Farm also contacted CBCOC prior to that match to make them aware that the player required a clearance after seeing his name appear in the early rounds.
"Accidents" like this don't just happen - especially when the CBC C Grade coach is the former Ingle Farm C grade coach who had this lad play under him during his time at Ingle Farm.

Of course u don't buy it. What on earth would b CBC's motivation for playing a C grader unregistered? Why would we make up a fake registration to play him? Look someone has obviously made a mistake here, is it worth taking 5 wins away from the c grade? No. There is no malice or intent here.

So what was the motivation to play him against IF, AFTER being advised that he was not cleared before the game? Surely that is intent?

The intent doesn't really come into it. Most clubs that make mistakes, do so unknowingly with good intentions. But it doesn't change the rules.
Didn't Elizabeth lose points over Ben Halliday a few years back because his name was spelt wrong on the form (or something like that)
If we ignore the rules because of "good intentions", every club that breaks the rules deliberately will just always use that as their defence
I don't know the full circumstances here, but on the surface it looks like a player has played unregistered, which is against the rules.

A few years ago i came up against the same thing with my old club. You do the best due diligence you can but you can only go by what that player said. We ended up losing points for a player that wrote his details incorrectly on his clearance forms. It was brought up by another club in another division as that's where he played. If the rule has been broken then of course the penalty should fit that error. There was thought that our A grade at the time would lose points but that didn't eventuate. No matter what way you look at it and from what the league told us at the time. Doesn't matter how or why it happened, the rule was broken and the penalty was and should be made. Comes down to interpretation and correct implementation of rulings/penalties. You would hope it doesn't come down to the club and who knows who elsewhere.

Your clutching at straws here..... Sporting pulse says he's registered to CBC, IF ring up & say he's not registered.... What would u do?

Otherwise why bother even submitting the clearance:

I would prob explain the situation to the league and seek permission for him to play, not just flaunt the rules.

Well we haven't lost points yet. I'm sure CBC wouldn't get leaniancy from the league that is a ridiculous statement. I just don't think it's all as clear cut as Zartan says it is. Always two sides to the story. Why don't we wait a few weeks & see what comes of it before we start slinging mud at other peoples clubs. We are all operating on assumption at the moment. I don't know who does CBC's clearances or the C grade coach so I can't give accurate details of what has happened from our side.

The clearance being "still pending" sort of indicates that this didn't happen.
