Finals Series

Post by Bounce of the ball »

Not a great result crowd wise. Looks to be set ,with 1 club that draws a crowd. Talk of low minor round crowds ,get the books out.

The swampies will come out in force given the Power won't require their support. Eagles/West/South aren't going to draw bumper crowds though...

If and when the power can't make the finals can the magpies select anyone for the finals or is there game qualifications.
Can the power start rotating for trade bate and give the magpies carte blanche.
Magpies easy premiers if so.

Can't remember all the ins and outs, but they have to have played more Sanfl than AFL and have to have played 5 Sanfl games for the season .. Something along those lines anyway.

Do yesterdays result technically give the Eagles the minor premiership? I think They can still lose it with 3 losses and Norwood and West winning all remaining games but requiring percentage boost.

My prediction is Port to final 4th or 5th .... Stack their side with players from AFL who qualify and win the premiership.

Can see it from a mile away !

Guessing an Eagles-South GF would draw 15-18,000, Eagles-West 18-20,000, but I reckon a South-West GF would draw 25,000, would be a lot of neutrals go along

As a neutral I will attend the Grand Final regardless of which teams are playing - provided that they are both dinkum teams and not eastern league ring-ins.

I think the opposite will happen, they will play a very weak line up and get booted out so their AFL listed players can start their break and be back early for preseason. They need to have a mandatory 8 week break and the Magpies going deep in the SANFL finals will not suit POORt.

Yeah, same here, except not sure I'd could go and support the Eagles and would be strange to be there just watching them.
Supporting a team against South in a GF would feel like killing Bambi.

Agree wih Dutchy here, I think they will drop away a bit. They will start to send a few off in the next weeks for surgery.

Already they have had one of there key players in the AFL go down with an injury so its unlikely you will see Moore back anytime soon.

First week of SANFL finals is still last week of AFL minor round so there will be no restrictions on who Port play for first week of finals.

This may hurt the SANFL side if the AFL plays at a later date and need emergency's .

They can .. South need 1 more win/draw from their remaining games to be safe and make it impossible for the Ravens. South play them next round followed by West, Port and Central

You would think south would win one of west or dogs at home.
Tattsbet only have 6 teams left in premiership betting.

If South win next match, then it would be impossible for Adelaide...but if not, South would have to win two matches to be sure of making the five, as if Central and/or Adelaide win their remaining matches, their percentage would most likely be more than Souths.

Probably only 4 clubs can get a decent crowd in finals currently. Glenelg Norwood Sturt and North.
