Younie said Adelaide’s participation on Friday would not be his decision but suggested if the Crows were forced to play on Friday some, if not all, AFL players could be withdrawn. There is the possibility of a farcical situation where Adelaide could field 21 top-up players in a move which would hurt the competition’s integrity.

Geezus H Christ, thank god the Crows are looking out for integrity of the comp!

In other news, next week the North Grog Squad will be passing out flyers at all SANFL games about the importance of moderation of drinking.

Just to add to the mix was the AFL decision to cancel the reserves trial seconds before it was to begin back in February between Port & Norwood.

I don't think they will find it as easy to move this one.

The club has bent over to these pricks against members wishes once already, hopefully we never see a repeat of this.
I for one will not attend if it is rescheduled

If todays game finished at roughly 2pm, technically by 7pm Friday wouldn't they be 5 hours into the 6th day post match? ;)

The SANFL is a farce if the Crows are allowed to get away with moving this. Surely then the spineless SANFL fat cats who are supposed to be auditing and reviewing the AFL Reserves situation need to put their collective feet down and tell them to get f..ked and whilst they are at it change ASAP the Port model so it is exactly the same as the Crows model.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

I understand why self interest prevailed at the time but this is why I HATE dealing with the fact that my club voted "yes ". And in such a deceitful manner. So..........Norwood, you've voted for an opponent which does not bring an extra 400 supporters to games (let alone 4000), does not "play to the line", and throws it's petticoat over its head if the "State League" side is called the SANFL. And because this bunch of inbred boys club b-graders have no regard for the competition in which they field their confused mixed up,topped up bunch of reserves they have the temerity to dictate when these no contests are to take place, including in front of some people who pay money.Integrity? I used to think Pseudo was a crackpot Don Quixote who simply tilted at windmills...I'm a slow learner, but I get it now.

My favourite bit was the quote from Younie: 'Hopefully common sense prevails and we are able to shift the game to Saturday.'

Is there nothing the Crows don't feel entitled to?

Having said that, it would be the creme de la creme of farces if they field 21 reserves players on Friday. Hard to rule it out knowing them. Maybe Nigel Smart will get a guernsey.

Enjoying some of the quotes from Norwood at the moment. "Thats not our problem" lol.

This will be interesting how it plays out. I expect the AFLPA to have a good bitch to the SANFL and then the SANFL making the call.

Seems that way. Like its there right to demamd a game time move. Let them play 21 top up players.

Maybe Norwood will get offered something to make them back flip again.

Norwood also said they'd vote NO and look how that turned out. No doubt they'll change their mind about this as well.

Unfortunately I tend to agree with you. We will talk a big game now but will get offered something and fold again.

After a great deal of posturing the NFC are at the mercy of the SANFL.
They run the competition that we are a part of.
What can we do other than make our position known? If they tell us to play Saturday then, at the end of the day, we play Saturday.
Sadly, I fear that the SANFL will yet again bend over to our AFL masters and let them have their way.
Would be interesting to see if they change the draw for later in the season where we have a 5 day gap between round 16 & 17.

Or, will the SANFL finally expose their balls to the dictators? That's assuming they have any.

This is certainly a test for Norwood - either they'll reinforce what we think about them, or they'll actually show the backbone they lacked during the reserves derate.

Its up to the home team, not the SANFL.
If it was.up to the SANFL it would have been moved already.

Norwood played the Eagles at 2.10pm on Sunday 19 April, finishing at about 4.30pm.
Norwood then played Port at 7.40pm on Friday 24 April.
That’s a gap of about 5 days and 3 hours.

The Adelaide “state team” played South at 11.30am on Sunday and finished at about 2.30pm on Sunday.
They are scheduled to play at 7.40pm on Friday.
That’s a gap of about 5 days and 5 hours.

The Adelaide Crows (AFL team) played at 4.10pm yesterday and finished at about 7pm last night.
The Adelaide State team is due to play Norwood at 7.40pm on Friday.
That’s a gap of about 5 days and half an hour, if you played in the Showdown yesterday and the SANFL this week. .

If a player who played for Adelaide v South can’t play for Adelaide v Norwood after a 5 day and 5 hour gap, how can a player be dropped from the Crows - eg for form reasons - be expected to play after 5 days and half an hour versus Norwood?

Surely you can’t have a rule where players who play SANFL games over two consecutive weeks are not able to “breach” an AFLPA agreement, but such an Agreement can be breached when a player is sent from AFL back to SANFL after being dropped for reasons of form or match ups not working in the AFL the next week?
