Power reserves at this time of the year look like they have the flag, but we know injuries later on and selection dilemmas later on in the year if their A team make the VFL finals. Its a joke, but what can you do. For me North look like a threat for the genuine SANFL flag.

Yeah like last years GF when they had about 18 plus AFL listed players and the lowest injury list of any team. On the SANFL website during the week, they had two injuries (as tests).

It's early but I notice Norwood are easily leading the U 16 comp again!

Certainly Norwood have the edge in the league with their kicking skills in particular, but it is drawing a long bow to say that it is necessarily their junior skill coaching. They have recruited very well. In the Under 16s in the last 5 years the Grand Finals have been as follows :
2014 Glenelg defeated North
2013 North defeated Glenelg
2012 Norwood defeated Glenelg
2011 North defeated Sturt
2010 North defeated Glenelg

Furthermore in the under 18s Norwood haven't made a Grand Final in that time.

I dont think we take as much pleasure in winning under age flags as what some other clubs do. We have tended to play the better kids up in the Ressies or League at the expense of junior flags.

Which is the exact opposite of what happened in the 1980s. Norwood were unbeatable in the junior grades then, but after 1984 had a 13 year drought despite dominating the junior grades. Perhaps they learnt from then, although it is a long time ago now.

Norwood still have the edge in these areas hence their continued success.

Keep working on those skills.

Not sure what Norwood's superior skills has to do with North losing to a team full of AFL listed players VP

You really need to get over it most are kids playing their first or second year of senior footy no senior influence like all the teams have restrictions on

You say most AFL reserves players are kids playing first or second year, when the last time you picked up an SANFL budget that is exactly what half of the sanfl teams are as well. Most sanfl teams have the majority of the players under 50 league games of experience.

So you have 2 young teams but 1 is full time!!!

I was told his ankle went pop! It also had nothing to do with the awful surface they played on, that surface was worst then most SAAFL grounds. Players I was talking to after the game weren't happy with the uneven surface.

Awful surface?? Whatever drugs your taking have well and truly ****** your brain!

Must admit I raised an eyebrow when special said that, I've always regarded Alberton as the best surface outside of Adelaide Oval and from what my Dad tells me its been that way for about 50 years. Looked nigh on perfect from the outer.

Some players I spoke to after the game. 1 played in the ressies and other one played in the league were surprised how bumpy it was. Apparently they were working on the oval before the reserves. When I walk across it, I thought I was in the parklands. From afar it looked great not until you walked on it.

I got there in the 3qtr of the reserves. The reserves player said 'they were poking holes around the ground before the game'. When I walked on it after the league it was softish under foot. Especially in front North bench it was bumpy.
