Why when we have press conference someone stands by the side giving sign language? WE ALL HAVE CAPTIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN

Anna Bligh made that "the thing" during the floods. So now everyone does it - but only during natural disasters.

Otherwise, apparently deaf people don't need to know what's going on in the world ;)

The Americans have been doing that for years, possibly even back in the 80s

Has anyone actually failed an explosives detection test at an airport?

Are there any couriers on Safooty?

I am looking at getting into doing courier someday, and I'm just wondering what it's like...

Yes. My exs brother in the US. Had FBI, CIA, etc guys running from everywhere.
As he actually works with explosives in the army he now has a special card he can show at airports to avoid half of homeland security coming down on you.

It is all about demonstrating the government's social inclusiveness even if the captions make it totally unnecessary.
That is, it is there for the propaganda effect not its usefulness.
Spin rules, and the public are expected to be too stupid to notice.

In those recent press conferences for NSW fires, there was other information scrolling across the bottom of the screen. Captions over the top of this would have made them hard to read. On a live broadcast like these, someone has to type the words for the captions in real time which is prone to error.

I haven't seen that happening, but in that case it would make sense.

Go to http://firstrownow.eu but make sure you have the ad block add on for Firefox. Do not use Internet Explorer.

You can watch pretty much any sporting event for free. The only downside is the quality is pretty poor.

Dont forget to use Ad Block though. The site has ridiculous amounts of pop-ups if you dont.

You can escape all the pop ups by expanding it to full screen.
