If a Uni player gets reported, I'd be very surprised if the tape wasn't handed over as we've a vested interest in ensuring thuggery is removed as much as possible from the league whether it's generated by one of our players or visited upon us.
In my experience though Uni players don't go around throwing out late hits.

And as FC so correctly pointed out, it's the Grand Finals this week - I'd expect every club to video these games and if they see incidents that all clubs have agreed to try to remove from the league they should bring them to attention because who actually wants to play in a league where late high hits are tolerated.

So no Uni players have ever been reported for striking another in a 'late hit'?? Thats either a massive call Finn, or Uni are what every club should be aiming to be.... I do see however that the sense has prevailed and the Youtube video of the TTG player has been removed by the one who posted it!! I guess the ploy worked though, as an investigation has now been opened and the TTG player has to 're-attend' the Tribunal tomorrow night.... Will be interesting if there is a different outcome to the first!!

I'm not saying that a Uni player has never thrown a late hit but I'm suggesting that we, as a club, would act on those players and have an interest in ensuring that the tribunal sets an example so that players think twice about indulging in these acts (generally as we tend to cop it much more than dish anything out).

I know in the last few years we've gently requested people move on who have tended to be a bit loose on the field.I acknowledge the efforts that many other clubs have put into cleaning up their acts and players; the SAAFL is about a million times better than it was during the late 80's, early 90's.

Weirdly though, the guy who youtubed the video doesn't play for, and isn't an official of, the club...

As an aside, I believe if the tribunal had seen the video, the penalty would have been somewhere between 2-4 weeks.

But you did suggest that Uni players 'in your experience' don't go around hitting players behind the play!! Also the reason I have commented on this incident is the following:
I was at the game and saw the incident.... The umpire had full view and saw the whole thing.... Hence the action taken and a red card issued and not a yellow!! Therefore the umpires evidence should have been more than enough for the tribunal!! The video 'miraculously' appears on YouTube and links put on this forum straight after the tribunal decision is handed down.... Why was it not declared to the SAAFL that video of the incident was available for their assessment.... I for one am in no way condoning the incident... And yes I believe it should have recieved a heavier penalty in the first place.... But a decision was made and just because there were complaints and now footage coming out of the woodwork (when it's public knowledge the Uni video their games), it should be closed.... Taking two bites at the cherry is pretty ordinary I think....

FFS, enough is enough. Pages dedicated to one incident. Dylan will re-front the tribunal tommorow night, plead his case and that is that. It has been a fantastic year of division 2 footy by many teams. There have been a heap of upsets, Portland and Flinders Park have done ridiculously well coming up, and the finals series have been hotly contested by all. Looking forward to a cracker of a game on Saturday. Two of the better teams have earned a well deserved place in the Grand Final. Enough of the semantics, lets just play bloody football. Play on!

Did Blacks130 & his video crew get what they wanted at the tribunal tonight after posting that video from you tube on here for all to see?
You blokes are just going way too far with these video recorders.
I asked to see the video weeks ago involving the Portland lad but you wouldn't post it, is that because you were happy with the 7 game suspension handed out?
A bloke misses the prelim serving his suspension handed down to him by the tribunal of 1 week & now you blokes want to hang the bloke even more by bringing him back to the tribunal to wreck his chance of playing in a Grand Final.
You f...n sooks have no class down there, you'll do anything to give your team every chance in the GF this week.
Hope TT Gully smash you bunch of f..n girls.
You must be pretty high up Blacks130 to get the moderators to delete my post just recently.

3rd year in a row that the Div 2R GF will be Walkies v Uni. With our B graders looking for back to back flags and Uni looking to get avenge last years GF loss it should be a cracker of a game.

Hopefully the Cattery will be celebrating back to back Div 2R flags, as well as the C1 (Walkies v Goodies at Mitcham) flag too.
