But i must say that i have heard from a few A graders that the A grade game was a tough, hard game played in pretty good spirits. I was also told that EP provided drink vouchers to our A graders, and when the boys went into the club rooms to have a few drinks Dusty Millar and few EP supporters spoke with our players about the game and how good a game it was. And when they boys left the club rooms a few EP players thanked our guys for coming in. Sounds like EP are trying to improve their image, it's just unfortunate that a few people within the club (the b grade ump) continue to bring them down.
There's a lot of good people out at Eastern Park so I hardly say that a B Grade umpire that appears to some as inept is hardly continuing to bring them down. I know the guy you're talking about and it is the first time I've ever seen anyone pass judgement on his performances on here. As EM stated, 1 win in two years probably bears no significance in his performances.
They have been trying to improve their public perception for a long time and have reaped the rewards over time, Billy Wells has been there for a long time as a player and official, a hard but fair player on the field and is the exact same person off of the field, calls a spade a spade and will pull anyone into line who disgraces the club he loves.
He once signed up on this site to answer some questions that were being thrown around about Eastern Park, true Billy style he signed up as himself and gave an honest evaluation of the events in question.
Positive feedback is welcoming for a club that continually has to defend itself, they've been heading in the right direction for some time now and it's good to hear some praise for them.
