Someone from Flinders maybe? CoverKing?

Out injured.

Toot Toot - the Districts train is here. So get your tickets right now for the big ride in September.

Geez, thought you'd rate Modbury pretty highly after they pumped your blokes a couple weeks back. Modbury seem to be in pretty good form, and I know the Districts coach rates them highly. You just worry bout your side Yardy Lard, who had a pretty impressive win themselves! Has Prior been given the BnF medal yet? Seems to have been bog every week - including at the Palais Saturday night.

Just want to put it out there that the Eastern Park B grade umpire, the one with the face plate, is possibly the most bias umpire I have seen in my life. He actually admitted to the other umpire on the weekend that he hates Walkerville and will favour Eastern Park where ever he could. ....... and let me tell you did he!!! At one stage he called play on as an Eastern Park player ran off his mark and then called it back when the Eastern Park player realised a player was near him and said "hang on."
I am not one to bag umpires as I do understand we need as many as we can get, but seriously blokes like this should not be allowed to umpire surely??!!

He's been doing it for years...the thing is though they probably don't have anyone better, or anyone who wants to do the job. You get your good umps and bad umps but this blokes idea on how to umpire is criminal.

Wow indeed. As soon as Districts got two goals up I don't think they were paid a free for the rest of the game by him. He also didn't mind dishing out a bit of abuse to the Port players. You sort of expect a bit of bias cos everyone is human but gotta be better than how he does it.
Was also no surprise when he ran 150m to the other umpires jurisdiction when a bit of push n shove started in the TTG forward 50 to give them a couple of free's.

im with you on this last week I was team manager for the B's against EP and there was a little scuffle no punches or anything thrown and out of no where he sent off a portland player who wasnt involved in it. He didnt have a card to show the player and when asked by the interchange steward what the report was etc he didnt say. After the game was very hesitant to sign interchange card aswell.
Good on him for doing it but surely they have someone better to do it?

Totally agree with everything that has been said about the EP B grade ump, he's been doing it for years.

But i must say that i have heard from a few A graders that the A grade game was a tough, hard game played in pretty good spirits. I was also told that EP provided drink vouchers to our A graders, and when the boys went into the club rooms to have a few drinks Dusty Millar and few EP supporters spoke with our players about the game and how good a game it was. And when they boys left the club rooms a few EP players thanked our guys for coming in. Sounds like EP are trying to improve their image, it's just unfortunate that a few people within the club (the b grade ump) continue to bring them down.

Billy Wells President of EP has done a terrific job along with his committee this year; and whilst the B Grade umpire may not be flash the fact they have won 1 game in 2 years probably means he is not having a massive impact on the game

There's a lot of good people out at Eastern Park so I hardly say that a B Grade umpire that appears to some as inept is hardly continuing to bring them down. I know the guy you're talking about and it is the first time I've ever seen anyone pass judgement on his performances on here. As EM stated, 1 win in two years probably bears no significance in his performances.
They have been trying to improve their public perception for a long time and have reaped the rewards over time, Billy Wells has been there for a long time as a player and official, a hard but fair player on the field and is the exact same person off of the field, calls a spade a spade and will pull anyone into line who disgraces the club he loves.
He once signed up on this site to answer some questions that were being thrown around about Eastern Park, true Billy style he signed up as himself and gave an honest evaluation of the events in question.
Positive feedback is welcoming for a club that continually has to defend itself, they've been heading in the right direction for some time now and it's good to hear some praise for them.

Other than the umpire and a few supporters there, I was relatively impressed with the club rooms and effort from some members of the club. They had lots of merchandise for sale as well as plenty of food and variety of snacks.
I do find your comments "As EM stated, 1 win in two years probably bears no significance in his performances." to not have much merit. The reason why they haven't won many games is because most of them are very young and are more interested in "push and shove" or verbal abuse to opposition players than going to get the footy. We do talk on here regularly about violence in the amatuer league and how the SAAFL are cracking down on it. IMO the biggest reason for "tempers boiling over" or over zelus tackles etc. are from umpires not having control of the game or being bias towards their own team. There is nothing more frustrating as a player to see an umpire delibrately favour an opposition team. So you may say he has no effect on them winning games, but I say he probably is a huge reason for fights and abuse from the sidelines starting.

Worse umpire ive ever seen was the EP B grade umpire. Blatant cheat. He was literally cheering for their goals. Despite the few bad eggs in their side, and the punch on between themselves after the game, they werent that bad!

I think the fact that their B grade isn't winning games probably hides the fact a little more how bad of an umpire this guy is.
I think most teams who come up against EP in the 2's probably have the attitude of "wow that guy was bad, but we won so who cares!"
This is probably why we don't here about it, or there hasn't been any formal complaints to the league about him. If EP reserves were better and actually won some games or at least come close to winning, there might be a few more complaints flying around about this bloke!
