By your reasoning I could start a thread that says "South should be thrown out of the competition and their coach jailed for crimes against humanity" and people would be expected to respond intelligently. If people put up specious or spurious arguments they should be treated with the respect they deserve.
If you had some facts to back that up then agreed, people should not just revert to personal insults and I think it would be more appropriate if they explained why your facts were incorrect. I'm not going to stop most of the personal insults but will point out that I think its a childish way to go about disagreeing with things. I also might have legal issues with someone accusing someone of crimes against humanity although they're quite within their rights to alleged something they've heard.

Look mate, no offence but if some of your posts in the past (here and on footysa) are something to go on you'd be happy with a site where a conversation would go like this:
Supporter A: Norwood Suck
Supporter B: You're a dickhead, your team sucks more.
Supporter C: You're a bigger dickhead and your team sucks more.
Supporter A: Takes one to know one
If you find topics about footy nauseating and would prefer a kiddie fest then fair enough mate, you're entitled to that. Just not my cup of tea and not the way I want to see this site progressing. I think the popularity of this site (which has exceeded my expectation) backs up the fact we must be on the right track. People still disagree and have a go at each other here more than another forum you frequent but you don't have a problem with that site for some reason. There's no enforced love in but I am trying to limit the schoolyard behaviour and promote intelligent discussions on footy, I don't think that's asking too much.
