Got rid of the pea heart in Kingsley.
Richmond forward line will be laughable with Kingsley and Richo there, 2 most pea hearted players in the comp.

Wedgie, what I meant was that both of these players could brake a finger nail and be out for 4 weeks - need to be more like Glenn Archer - he would try and play with a broken leg!

News flash geniear5e. Otto played every match for the Cats last season. Not bad for a big bloke coming off a groin injury (off the bone OUCH) and no pre-season.

Settle down shin boner, the Kangaroos would have to be the softest team in the AFL. Bunch of marshmellows.

I headed down to Telstra Dome today expecting to see a ripper clash. Unfortunately, Geelong didn't hold up their end of the bargain. They were terrible and on today's form there would have to be 8 better teams in the AFL.

While I'm being negative about the Cats, is there a worse 50-gamer than Charlie Gardiner? He doesn't appear to have any decision making skills.

On the bright side, Nathan Ablett showed he will be a star.

Dunno, I thought Charlie had a much bigger influence on the game than Brad Ottens.

Touche. Big Brad got a nice bronx cheer when he took a mark at the end of the game.

In fact, I went easy on Gardiner. A Geelong supporter rang Triple M after the match and called him the worst player in the AFL! :!:

I'd say you couldn't be more negative about Geelong if you tried. True, we were second best by a fair way yesterday but I watched every game of the first round and I am still confident the Cats can finish in the in the 5-8 bracket. One thing I did notice is that the ruck was very influentual in most matches during round one and the Cats were clearly beaten in the middle and we need King back pronto. If King doesn't come good then Otto must ruck full time and we have to consider a smaller forward line much like the Bulldogs.

This time last year we were flying so I don't mind a slower start to the season so long as we don't end up 3-6 like last year. We had plenty out and if you think that is as good as it gets for Geelong this season then you are going to either lose a lot of bets or finish near the end of most tipping tables. As for Gardiner, I agree that he is a dud of the highest order. In fact, yesterday's match was one of his better ones so that should tell you plenty. One thing you have neglected to point out is that the Bulldogs are a fair side this season and I'll reckon they'll go top four.

Yes, good points REB. I have indeed sung the Bulldogs' praises on another thread - they are flag smokeys.

The old bloke Geelong supporter I sat next to made the same point about King. Ottens hasn't rucked full time for a few years and I doubt he has the motor to go all day. Blake was very ineffectual and has a long way to go. The other thing that stood out was fiddling about with poor short disposals. Wojcinski's goal on the burst just before half time was the sort of direct play the Cats lacked.

An interesting game awaits this week against a confident Carlton at the same venue.

I think we'll beat Carlton as I reckon Blake/Ottens/Mooney can handle Cloke/Ackland. Richmond were what, 27 points up at one stage with Pattison in ruck  . I'll be disappointed if we drop that game.
