We should be getting as much info out there as possible to everyone, we cant afford to be picky and its not as though a member isn't going to join up because he doesn't get exclusive news on the website. Just my opinion though.

The West website was a joke until less than 12 months ago. Now it is regularly updated and communication with members is first class.
As Phil H confirms, player lists aren't finalised until next week, but some people seem to always need to have something to complain about.

Quick question for you ... As I understand it, most clubs rely upon volunteers to maintain their website to fairly large degree's (in some cases %100 of it is done by volunteers) ... Do you think the day will come whereby clubs introduce a fulltime IT person, or perhaps an additional marketing staff member (with adequate IT ability) capable of giving a club website the attention (I believe) it requires?

The SAFC website was the first official club site. Yes it was started and run by a volunteer for 3 years until work committments forced the person (me) to relinquish the role to an outside web development company. The cost of which I believe was several K a year for a couple of years.
Scoop then took over the reins as a volunteer (although how he fits in the time with all the other stuff he does around the place I dunno). In my oppinion he's doing a bonza (how old are you?) job and probably as good or better than a full time IT person could.
The additional costs of having a dedicated IT officer could probably not be justified by most clubs and the time required for other staff to manage the website would also not be justifiable. The skills and time input by volunteers on all club sites is a boon that I am sure all clubs appreciate. And I think they all deserve a pat on the back.
