your have got to be kidding, your saying, player 13 to 30 on Carlton's or Richmond's list is as good as the Eagles....
My view, there is little that seperates most clubs top 6 - 8 players, after that it is all about depth and quality on your list, this is one reason we have blow outs in the score, because the lower sides do not have the quality and depth across the team,
Top sides have quality on every line, the bottom sides have a lot more gaps to plug due to the lack of depth
My view, you have your theory up side down

In regards to AC player depth I think it's pretty good, not as good as the eagles but better then most clubs.
When I look at depth I look at players from #25 to # 35 on the list, can they come in and play a role if required, in this bracket I feel the crows have players who can come in and be strong contributors, I am not sure how many clubs have this depth.
If I was to pick my best 22 when fit it would look like this
F BOCK ROO BODE
HF BURTON PERRIE MACCA
C DOUGHTY GOODWIN KNIGHTS
HB VAN BERLO MCGREGOR BASSETT
B JOHNCOCK RUTTEN MATTNER
IR HUDSON SHIRLEY EDWARDS
INT GRIFFEN THOMPSON RIELLEY WELSH
Obviously some members may disagree and rightfully so, how do you fit in players like Massie, Torney, Proplyzia, and Stevens
Then there's the young group in Hinge, Douglas, Maric, Meesen Vince, Tippett, Pfeiffer and McKay, I am extremely confident the club has 3 or 4 boys in this group ready to step up when required, I am looking forward to seeing some youth in the side
Finally, then there is Gill, Campbell and Archard, I have not seen too much of these boys but the club identified Campbell as a player who could step straight in as a defensive midfield and Gill as secruity for our forwards
Summary, I feel pretty comfortable with the clubs list

West Coast
Adelaide
St Kilda
Fremantle
Sydney
Bulldogs
Geelong
Melbourne
Close to 8: Port, Hawthorn, Kangaroos, Richmond
Building for 2008: Carlton, Essendon, Brisbane, Collingwood
Very hard to call so early on. Every year one team surprises everyone .... maybe this year's 'smokey' big improver might be the Lions or Essendon?

Unfortunately I have to agree with Eddie McGuire on this one. He said the other day that anyone who thinks they can accurately tip a final 16 before the season starts is full of it. Too many variances can play a part as the season unfolds.
AH I will give you a bet that cant lose.
If you think predicting on a 1-16 is full of it then I will make this offer.
IF KA BEAT WC HOME IN 2007 MINOR ROUND
MAL will buy AH a carton of beer
MAL will not post for the rest of 2007 on SAFOOTY after the last round if KA beat WC home.
AH all you have to do is NOTHING.
