Sieg G'day.
"What we learn from the police is relevant and important, and if the Queensland police determine they want to take matters forward, that is relevant," he said.
"If they determine they have no further action to take, we would still reserve the right to conduct a further investigation.''
The AFL had already interviewed the woman before she laid the official complaint to police on Thursday.
Errrr... which branch of law enforcement do the AFL come under again? Cant recall that one.
None, but they are interested in his behaviour as an employee and representative of the club, whereas the Police are only interested in whether their is evidence to support a charge for a criminal offence.
These are totally different issues, and the outcome of one does not determine the outcome of the other.

So if you were accused of the a crime, you'd be OK if your employer went and interviewed the alleged victim and then told you that even if you're not charged, they reserve the right to make their own decision and sack you?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

If I were employed in a situation in which my public image as a representative of the company and its brand were an essential part of my employment I would wear it whether I felt it was fair or not in the specific situation that arose. My alternative would be to decline to sign on to those terms of employment in the first place and get a job somewhere else...
Those terms are fairly common in highly paid jobs - you can't expect to have the benefits without the risk.

in theory this sounds good, but i don't rekon he'd want to be involved in anything to do with it. wash his hands and be done with it.

on the other hand, next time i see Fev, 12 hours later i'm guna go to the cops and say he touched me.

I'd hardly call that "cleared", just not proceeded with.
It certainly doesn't establish he didn't do it, and a charge against him might stick in a civil action where, IIRC, the burden of proof usually only requires a "balance of probabilities" rather than "benefit of the doubt".
So I expect he wouldn't try to sue her.
However, Queensland Police said in a statement on Wednesday that there was "insufficient evidence" to charge Fevola in relation to a complaint of an "indecent act".

Under the AFL's "strictly enforced" flashing policy Fev has two more chances.

So this one isn't included then? Or is pissing in public not technically counted as flashing?

People keep making the same mistake with Fevola. They keep treating him like a responsible adult, and he doesn't qualify on either front.

Total man-child, just can't do anything right.

Lately (before his arrest last night), he smashed the window of a vehicle when promoting the Brisbane Bandits baseball side, then some fella found a stash of personal documents apprently just left behind in a park -the "hero" who found the gear then decided the best course of action was contact Channel 9, who then proceeded to run it as their lead story

How could it be alcohol? You need to have some brain cells for the alcohol to affect. You'd think a player on his final chance in football MAY see a risk in going out until 4.30am on New Years Eve, but not Fev. Not poor misunderstood Fev. It's always someone else's fault, never his. I can't wait to hear the feeble excuse this time. The trouble is, there are way too many apologists for Fev out there.

I heard when Carlton sacked him, there was a lot more to it than the reasons being given. Don't know if that's the truth, but it's what I heard, and usually what I hear is pretty close to the money.

Who cares if he stayed up until 4:30am on New Years ... FFS, do we expect these guys to be alter boys?

That has nothing to do with the real issue ... alcohol and being arrested.

Plenty of people can manage to stay up late and not get into trouble, but Fev obviously has a problem or 20 ...

Just gave the Lions a reason to boot him.
