I see them as a team of individuals - exactly like Norman said.
I think there is a few in that side that are there for the wrong reasons.
Just my assessment anyway.......

Indeed, no obvious faults... except perhaps that the bloke on the scoreboard could lift his game a little...
and bring the dog on in the last quarter for some fresh legs

I think his 'smarts' are what keeps him in it and he'll still provide value in crunch games but his lack of pace will be exploited at times.
To tell you the truth I haven't noticed him much in games this year which may say alot more about his influence than I realised until I just gave it some thought.

Judging by all the replies today, guess they do.

I was not having a go at Sturt. Just think this year they are lacking a real "respect" for opposition teams. Like the South, Norwood games.
I think also some of the players have a bit of a arrogance about them and forgetting the word "Team". :?

Not only was he so flexible and can do jobs both down back and kick goals up forward when needed, but he was capable of being an impact player...
Coming into a game for a small period and doing something spectacular, be it a team lifting goal, a strong defensive pack mark or provide great run from half back...
Unfortunately for Sturt supporters, no one can and would be able to replace Michael Coad, he was a star of this competition IMO and someone I think Sturt are missing more than they perhaps thought they would have.
Ryan Herring COULD be that impact player IF he wanted to be, but as previously stated, seems to lack the confidence and grunt to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
I've always wondered how Herring would go at CHB and maybe put Thurstans at CHF, we all know that he is capable of taking strong marks and kicking goals...
Just my thoughts...

And very smart thoughts BP. I've been thinking that for a while now but was shot down by some people when I mentioned it.

People laughed when Freo put Tarrant in defence. Never understood why some players are always "forwards", give them a run in the backlines and see what happens.

We were in a similar situation in 2003, ironically after winning the Premiership in 2002. Started 3-5 and ended up 13-7 after the Minor Round only to bounce out in our Final against the Eagles.
I think Glenelg beat us by about 8 goals at Unley before the bye. We played the Panthers the next Round and won comprehensively.
