MAL's day at the Footy.
- Get there early and watch who buys what for lunch
- Jot down every goalkicker in his budget for both sides
- Get upset and embarrassed at abusive language by players to field and boundary umpires

Happy upcoming 75th Birthday you old FART

Whatever happened to the crowing rooster ? That was an endless source of amusement, particularly late in the game when North were miles behind.

Great game from the dogs. North were always under pressure and eventually caved in.

Not sure why people are picking on Alleway. He played with a lot of guts today.

At least Healy was honest in the 'tiser and called us a rabble - in that he was describing most of the club including some of our supporters. That DH North supporter behind the southern goals who spent the last quarter swearing and abusing the Centrals suporters and continually calling them ferals was an embarrasing joke and feral himself!

Now back to the football - Looking at the stats it is even more damning as to how he didn't pick O'Hara to ruck - we got killed in the hitouts! Obviously Ackland's knee operation at the end of 2009 was a full reco as he has been listed as an out for 4 weeks since the triual games started. North can't even be honest about that FFS! is

Time Mr. Healy to realise that Alleway is your best forward so play him at CHF and play a ruckman however with our current flooding defensive game and no ability to win a clearance our fwds have no hope and we are devoid of ideas how to move the ball quickly to give our fwds a chance. Our turnovers under pressure are deplorable and we can't even make basic sideways kicks and handballs when not under pressure and we were really exposed under constant pressure.

Whilst on the 'Tiser good to see them "talking up" Motlop who was very average and was killed by the run of Nash all day and then topped his day off with the cowardly act in the south-west pocket which didn't seem to get a mention - funny that!

Gazza - that is a **** comment and you know it! Alleway is one of a few players that plays 100 percent with passion each week. Might be handy if he could play in the fwd line for the whole game and not have to carry our rucks in the absence of 3 other ruckman not being available at North.

To suggest he is not at the SANFL level smacks of arrogance to the max!

no I didn't say that, he is a good player, but needs to lose the weight.

Why would a key forward/ruckman want to take off muscle?
He hasn't got an ounce of fat on him.

I didn't think Alleway looked fat. I think the shorts he was wearing didn't flatter him though. They were huge. Looked like he couldn't find his shorts so wore Grandma's tablecloth.

Hasn't been the same since you abandoned them.

On another note, sad to see a North supporter who has recently swapped over to Centrals. He looked quite happy strutting around in his new Centrals hat and scarf.

I think i seen that lad today, was near the changerooms after the game, was copping heaps from the blokes on the crickt club balcony was very funny.

Yeah found that extemely funny yet so typical of the Advertiser, if you didn't know the score and just read that piece you would of swore Motlop was the match winner.

North were terrible yesterday was very lucky to be so close still at 3 qtr time then just got blown away in the last. I think Motlop talking to a North supporter in the crowd summed up his whole mindset yesterday. He was very very lazy, was always behind his opponent and always looking for the cheap kick. Was not the worst tho. Only got to see the aftermath of the incident when Motlop was over the fence didn't look good though.

There was one North supporter behind us going on and on about how piss poor North are even yelling up to Healy in the coaches box. He just needed to shut up he was giving everyone around him the shits. I know it was frustrating with how they played but bloody hell your a supporter of North not the opposition.

Now the acohol has wore of my reflections on the game.

Was great to see Hardy back in the side, if nothing else he adds size, experience and a presence in the backlines, he played really well as well.

The response from some of the younger players who had shockers against Sturt was great. Habel had another great game, while Jenner continues to win lots of the ball and uses it very effectively and Nash did a great job on Motlop who didn't chase Nash all day.

Like many other Dogs fans i thought we looked switched on from the start but was worried at quarter time that we should have been further in front and even at half time our lead didn't do justice to our domination.

Griffen was great all day and really dominated as he should against a side without a specialist ruckmen, which was a weird selection by Healy.

Gowans called the last quarter on slaught at 3/4 time repeatedly telling the players to run, run, run North were out on there feet and had nothing left in the tank.

Gunston was really good this week but his defensice efforts especially in the first quarter leave alot to be desired. If he wants to be a league regular at the Dogs he won't be able to rely on a couple of flashy moments. He has lots of skill, ability and potential but that alone won't be enough for him to make it ala Taylor Walker.

Was good as well to get the win with the likes of Gowans and Callinan (his kicking today was the worse i have seen from him) is a really good sign for the future of the club.

Last of all i have always thought Goodrem makes a better forward than defender and it was great to see him play in the forward line and be one of the best. He has that knack of being able to kick goals when there doesn't seem to be much on offer something that is untrainable imho.

Zorro wrote:Here's my summary of the Motlop incident in the pocket. I was 5-10m away.

Motlop lays a fairly heavy but legal tackle on a Centrals player near the boundary as he's disposing of the ball.
Centrals player retaliates and they wrestle and get up and exchange a couple of minor jumper punches.
Motlop flings the player into the fence head first in what can only be described as a bloody dangerous thing to do.
The Centrals player remarkably keeps gets up and keeps wrestling and about 4 mates including one of the Gowans come over to assist.
They wrestle Motlop over the fence until he's practically falling head first onto the concrete on the other side. A few supporters move in, one gets close to Gowans and gives him some verbal and the other tries to stop Motlop from hitting the concrete.
After some delay Weslo come around and just hang around, even standing right next to me for a few minutes before chatting to the guy who went near Motlop. The guy then gets escorted out.

I don't for a minute condone supporters going near players and hence I stayed out of it but I can understand how things happen in the heat of the moment. Talk of players being whacked is crap IMO, I was less than 10m away and didn't see any of that happen. Either way it was ugly and the aftermath was bemusing.

As for Centrals, thought their supporters were good today and in good numbers, the side was too strong, disciplined and hungry for us once again. How a side that's been in the past 10 GFs can want it more than one which hasn't had any success for nearly 20 years is beyond me, but full credit to Centrals.

North, I don't know what to say or think anymore. After last week I was shattered to lose but hopeful. Now I just feel flat.

The delay was cos the weslo guys, including one with "supervisor" or some such on his lovely yellow vest, went chasing around the oval, rather slowly, to talk to a bloke that wasnt even involved in the whole thing. the guy was just going back to his seat with his kids, in the family friendly area, and got chased down by five weslo guys! they had no idea whatsoever who was involved!! they have absolutely NFI

With the dogs injury list there's no wonder their ressies are struggling. With players back on the park I expect the reserves to become competitive again, with a very strong league side.

Exactly HBT, the Doggies seconds have a lot of youngsters at the moment and on the weekend, only had 1 player in the side with league experience and that was Damian Hynes who had only played about 3 or 4 games this year anyway.

I'd expect Central's 2's to have a much better second half to the year as more players come back into the league side, pushing quality 'fringe' players back into the magoos.

Well done to Adam Switala on his 200th and Corey Reichert, the young lad from Salisbury North, on his 1st game as well.

Last week after being crunched by Sturt it looked like we had lots of work to do and Sturt had got their season together.

Now we find the true doggies spirit again and Sturt get thrashed by Norwood.

A week is a long time!
We used to be good :-(

If there are any shrinks on this site it might be worth dropping a line to the NAFC.
Seriously we are PATHETIC and an embarrassment to the SANFL competion, perhaps we should fold instead of Port. Atleast they show more ticker.
Geez North shit me.
